Clubs discussing compensation. Can't blame Cotterill though a bit like leaving the frying pan...., but Pompey will miss him.
haha Get in Cotterrill, I got some respect for you again now, Second biggest defeat for Portsmouth This season, after we do the double off them. haha
Thank god for that! Now I dont have to hear him saying every single week how his team deserved to win no matter what the actual result was
And no more 'you know' 'you know' 'for sure' 'you know' 'for sure'. In his last interview (vs Leeds?) I decided to count them both up. 'You know' beat 'For sure' 9-3.
Steve McLaren for Pompey... oh go on, please... with his history of feigning local accents, I want to hear him do the usual mockney pompey accent.
Apparently Jim Magilton is available as he has just been sacked by Ipswich. The alternative is Avram Grant again? Surely relegation would be nailed on!
I don't think so. I thought he did very well with what he had at his disposal. Clearly, he's not a trophies style manager, or has not been given the opportunity to be one, these last few years. He's been a rescuer. He's not the best for Nott'm Forest in the long run, but to get them out of their hole, he's a good manager, If Pompey don't make the right choice they'll be visiting League One next season. All IMO, of course. McLaren..? Of course, I'm joking. Ex-Forest's Billy Davies would actually suit them and they'd do quite well.
Pompey job would suit O'Driscoll down to the ground, that'd be the sensible choice for them. Pompey have got off lucky there, Steve was progressing the team very little. However, in the Pompey style, they won't go for the sensible choice and choose Dave Jones instead, which is a big risk.
He's not done that well! 30% win ratio is terrible for a side just relegated from the Prem (though ravaged as Portsmouth were, Burley did better with our crack team of flops), the one thing I'd commend him for was the deal involving Liam Lawrence which was a total steal (if you discount Dave Kitson...). Billy Davies is far too good a manager for them - he's continually been in charge of a promotion chasing team (took Preston to playoffs, got Derby promoted, Forest always in playoffs) who has been linked with Premiership clubs. He would do a good job I'm sure, but it's a matter of whether he'd want to do it.
