It really bugs me that everytime anything slightly bad on the pitch happens it always has to be somebody's fault. Pilkington's corner was poor but that didn't cost us a goal in itself. An even worse corner could deflect to a guy who scores a goal and a perfect corner could deflect of a defender/goalkeeper and set up a counter-charge. It is just bad luck really.

Occasionally a goal is scored you can absolutely do nothing about and it's a purely brilliant goal, but then there is a lot of goals which are caused by errors most of the time the team who win's is the one who makes less errors. Hazards goal was a catalogue of errors by players who were perhaps tired, if you think that's harsh it's not like their being hung out to dry.

You can't put everything that go's wrong down to luck though people need to step up and take responsibility sometimes, that in itself is a lot more admirable trait then merely putting it down to chance.

Pat Nevin is the only BBC pundit which I think actually analyses football in detail. I feel I learn something when listening to him rather than Lawrenson's little childish "witty" remarks.

    Damned right.
There used to be a programme on Radio5 on a Friday night with Pat Nevin (<ok>), Perry Groves (<ok>) and hosted by Colin Murray.

It (the programme) had it's finger on the pulse, unlike all the soundbites we hear today.
Both Nevin and Groves should be employed in the media side of the game.

(I'm assuming they're still 'free agents' - if not apologies.)

Groves works on Talksport with Colin Murray in the Mid Morning Show I believe. Nevin makes an occasional appearance on MOTD2, but not enough in my opinion. I do like Mark Chapman as a host though, feel like he isn't trying to be Lawro's little brother like Colin Murray was with his, again, little witty comments.

I don't mean to sound horrible here, because the guy went through hell with his tumour. But John Hartson doesn't add much to the show and he's been on there a few times now. Finally Michael Owen has to be the most boring guy in football media? I can't stand the guy and every few minutes when he commentates for BT Sport his lack of knowledge is found out.

My work colleague is very close friends with Perry Groves, I've always liked him because he speaks his mind, Pat Nevin is better than anyone on the Beeb.

I've always been against people on the post, more for the offside argument than anything else. The trouble is nobody points out the goals saved through it, it's just noted when a goal is conceded.
