How long Bristol City players have remaining on their contracts revealed
What you need to know about Bristol City's players contracts

It’s not always easy to keep players at a football club.

Tying players down to long contracts is the best way to do this. Sometimes they’ll get picked up by another club like a Bobby Reid and sometimes there will be a loan player who shines but will move onto bigger things like a Tammy Abraham.

The key to these sorts of transfers and futures of players is their contracts. This doesn’t always mean a player is safe from leaving but it will certainly make it more difficult.

So, how long is every Bristol City player contracted to stay with the club?

    June 2019
Niki MäenPää (option for further year)
    Jens Hegeler
    Eros Pisano
Frank Fielding (option for further year)
    Matty Taylor
    Korey Smith
Bailey Wright (option for further year)
    Jamie Paterson
    Callum O’Dowda
    LLoyd Kelly
Joe Morrell (option for further year)

There are two players on loan at Bristol City from Chelsea for a year so they are set to head back to their parent club at the end of the season.

    Loans
    Tomas Kalas
    Jay Dasilva

Only two players have two years left on their current contracts at Bristol City.

    June 2020
    Niclas Eliasson
    Liam Walsh

Half of the 10 players who have contracts until 2021 are new additions signed in the summer. A three-year contract must be the most popular length contract to sign when joining Bristol City.

    June 2021
    Andreas Weimann
    Nathan Baker
    Marley Watkins
Marlon Pack (option for a further year)
    Jack Hunt
    Famara Diedhou
    Hakeeb Adelakun
Mo Eisa (option for afurther year)
    Josh Brownhill
Max O’Leary (option for a further year)

Only one player has a contract running until 2022. It doesn’t look like this new addition is going anywhere soon.

Great info wiz and it makes you aware of when we need to renew the contracts of players we want to keep longer term. Allowing good player contracts to run down their final years can be a nightmare and at least if you can agree an extension they then command a transfer fee.

Thanks mate, I am sure people want to read about all things Bristol City apart from the emotional twists, if I can find it I'll copy and paste it, I'm trying a change of emphasis, if it get's boring I am sure I'll collect 'The grapes of wrath ' off the members.

Oh dear, some of June 19 ones are worrying. Looking at O'Dowda in particular.

I think you are right on that one jgf2 because you need to build a squad for the next 3 years and not go through the constant rebuilding programmes.
