After watching todays great performance with great pride, its clear new contracts should immediately be offered to Max and Adam Clayton. And not mickey mouse derisory ones either. These are young hugely talented footballers which the club has been starved of for the last six years. Now we actually have these kind of players, the great dictator should do everything in his power to sign them up in the long term. That would show real intent as to where he sees us going in the future. Im not holding my breath though
I actually really agree, clayton should be tied down on a long term contract, his talent is clear. As for gradel, i've always been the biggest criticizer of gradel but he did very well against west ham (He shoulda scored the penalty but i think howson or snoddy should be taking penalties personally) and i think he deserves to be offered a new contract. It seems to me that he has really worked at his game since last year, his first touch seems better, he seems to be making better decisions in most instances and his technique looked better as well. I think we should be offering him a decent contract but no where near his asking price of 25k a week though
Both players should be on long term contract at the club, sadly they won't be as this is not Bates style. I would suggest Bates is now talking to agents about how good his boy Clayton is and that he should be in the EPL. Bates will probably tell them, we want to keep the boy but his agent wants too much money, and then suggest they come back to him with a fee for transfer. What we as Leeds fans get told, will of course be a load of lies, but hey that's our Ken.
According to someone on JA606, Gradel has all but signed a new 3 year deal and the club will be announcing it some time this week. I know it looks like another "friend of a friend" rumour, but the guy seems pretty sincere.
