Compared to some, in this league, NP hasnt spent a great deal, last season he had his hands tied until january spending wise, This season depsite what the club say i still think we have been handicapped somewhat with the wages of kilbane, Ghilas, Mcshane, Olifinjana and Bullard.

I still think until all of the above have been shifted off the wage bill, we wont be able to bring in the signings that will really compliment the promising youngsters (Dudgeon, Chester, Stewart, Hobbs, Evans) we've had to make do with free transfers in our pursuit of proven weathered championship class players, which says it all about the 5 big wages actually being a burden.

like i say, im happy for us to be competetive this season, then really push on once the finances are in order and we dont have any drain on our club. lets judge NP once the 5 have been shifted and he's made the signings he really wants not the ones hes made due to his hands being tied.

agreed mate, but he/we wasnt talking about performances. if its just about who has the better squad with the better players, id say we are in the top 6 or very close to it. i dont think brighton, saints or derby have a better squad than us. for whatever reason though they are performing a lot better than us.

I guess with Southampton and Brighton they'll have the high of promotion still. Brighton have a new stadium and both seem to have the right mix of youth and experience. Derby have had the makings of a good team for a few years but have underperformed massively but it's maybe coming together for them now. I guess you can count Bristol City, Burnley, Forest and even Portsmouth along with ourselves as the sides who feel they should be doing better than their current position suggests. I guess as we've seen recently with Leicester, who you have in your team doesn't matter, it's if the players in that team can play well together (a la Southampton, Brighton).

The problem is, final league position depends on more than just squad quality. Manager ability and luck also play a huge part. Before a ball was kicked, we were in 12th place. I'll take anything above that at the end of the season.

Nigel is a cancer on our club.

    You'll come round by January.

Have you got difficulty reading? I CLEARLY said 3 teams relegated with better squads than us, then named 4 other teams who many people will think have a better chance of promotion than us.

No I wasnt - read the post again. I CLEARLY say the 3 teams relegated have better squads than us - not the 7.
