We just signed Connor Smith from Watford for the rest of the season on loan. Do any of you know much about him. What is he like, I hear that he is an attacking midfielder but is that his only position that he plays in and what do you generally think of him?

He arrived with a big reputation and has been playing for the reserve and youth team. I think he is on the edge of our first team, came on as a sub Saturday, but probably needs to play regular competitive matches. Looks like a good prospect, but can he progress remains to be seen.

Signed for Gillingham eh - I might even nip over to the Priestfield at some point to see how he's doing.

Certainly ought to be a good player for you - can tackle and pass well.

Hope he gets a chance to impress.

I would say he can play in many positions - I think the club would like him to develop as a box to box midfielder and it's possible his best possition is as a defensive midfielder but he can play wing back and more centraly attacking. It will be interesting to see where you guys play him as we may well have asked for him to be developed in a particular way.
All in all he should be a good signing for you.

Having been at the Bristol City game I can confidently say he most definitely can't play wing back.

I remember Zola tried to play Murray in that role during the corresponding fixtures last season as well!
