Now confirmed on the clubs twitter account. Free transfer, two and a half year deal.

I wish him all the best, good luck to the lad.

Not really, maybe he will come back to haunt us but there is no place in the team for him now.

His wage could be going elsewhere. Good player, doesn't fit with us.

It may turn out to be a mistake, but its for the best i think. He is way down pecking order for centrehalves, so we might as well free up some of the wage bill. We are well covered in that area

    Yes you was <ok>

I did see something on gillsconnect late last night when I came home from work but I could not find another media source to back it up.

How are gillsconnect getting all this news of late, I don't believe it is just coincident. So slightly off topic but have they got a new found friend inside Priestield?

I think Al has always had a contact within the club. Didn't his wife used to work there, or maybe she still does ?

Great deal for Essam 2and half year contract. By Gills releasing him, he has benefited no end. Better contract at a higher league. At least if he does do well and is sold later we will get a percentage. Still wish he was here though competing for centre half.

Personally I'm sorry to see him go, but delighted that he's gone somewhere where hopefully he'll be appreciated more and get more game time into him. Based on what I saw of him last season I think he's got a lot of potential.

Best wishes to him for the future.

Good luck to Connor, he has a very bright future in the game, but the good news is with the recent signing of Legge we have a beast of a centre half and he is just what we need to get promoted out of this league.

I think it's very noble of MA to let him go tbh. He said himself the kid had lots of potential and they may regret it but he doesn't want to ruin his career by letting him stagnate as he can get regular football!

Sad to see him go, but think MA has done it for the best for the player and maybe not gfc!
