Played 60 minutes tonight for the gills Against ramsgate along with miller , and he did not look 100% but in my choice I want him as number 1 centre back with Flanagan . Thoughts
I would also like to see Essam playing regularly at Centre half but have a feeling that it may end up being Flanagan (till Christmas at least) with a new signing at the back leaving Essam on the bench.
gfcluckey - I seriously cannot see Essam being left on the bench. I agree with henrygills99 both Essam and Flanagan (re Flanagan from what I have seen in ONE game only), to both start at the back. No one has really answered my previous question on other threads, to what other positions Flanagan can comfortably play and I feel it is quite important to understand that, with Joe Martin, Andy Frampton positions questionable by some. Even if we get a big name signing in, my guess would be Flanagan being left on the bench before Essam. The trouble is at the moment it was not the best time (if there ever was one) for Essam to pick up a knock (Dover).
I have a feeling that Mad dog prefers Davies, may be wrong but he seems to play him more, but we will have to see as Martin Allen has not said anything about his favourites yet, however I hope we start the season with Essam at the back.
