Definitely my vote for no1 whinging and whining fans after a defeat. Both 606 and this site, the abuse hurled at Stoke has been pathetic. For all those Sunderland fans that have ben balanced my apologies. For the rest of you grow up and get over it.
The Sunderland fans on the 606 board are hilarious. A pint of bitter and a bowl of sour grapes for them I feel I echo northern's words. Apologies to the Sunderland fans with balanced views and embarrassed by some of the other Sunderland fans.
Don't recall vitriolic abuse from Stoke fans to Sunderland-just bemoaned our luck, which would have been fair enough if you had done the same, but sadly not
Dyno As Moderator of the Stoke board can I just say this. We were not given a certain obvious decision re Lee Cattermole handball during the revese fixture so... we moved on from that, today yes, we had some luck so.. I do not remember too many Stoke fans complaining about YOUR team and the way YOU played or do PLAY mate? WE did complain about the ref and that atrocious decision, NOT to award Stoke a penalty. MY PROBLEM is with a certain Sunderland fan who seemed to want to insult not only me but every STOKE fan and our playing staff. PLEASE see this thread entitled.. " STOKE are a bunch of talentless Donkey's" Banter is fine Dyno, but that thread is way O.T.T. GOOD LUCK to Sunderland for the rest of the season, you will be fine. Regards Pottermouth
To be fair, you do play dire football, shouldnt even call it football!! but if you lot are happy seeing that week in week out, good for you!! but its not the world class football the premier league deserves, pathetic!
So what you're saying is, because we play a brand of football that isn't to everyone's taste, we deserve to have abuse thrown at us for it? The Premier League has the reputation it has today because of it's varied styles of play, that Bolton, Blackburn, ourselves and even Everton and Villa to a certain extent, have brought to it over the years.
Even when we were 1-2 up, me and my mates (2 mags in the group as well) could not believe the way you were playing, it was awful.
We know mate, that's why we have this board and the original 606 board, we hate the Oatcake, at least I do
Northern, I still hoping that Le Arsenal get this award cus when it comes to whining whingers they are really Premier league.
It's football Jim, just not as we know it. When FIFA introduce their ban on throw in's going directly into the 18 yard area you will be sussed. Check out the reports in the newspapers and they all reckon at least two of your goals were illegal and the ref had a shocker, inconsistent and biased. I think the Stoke fans need to acknowledge how much help they got from the officials before they start criticizing Sunderland fans for feeling robbed. You were very lucky, we had none.
Well considering the luck you had in the reverse fixture, and the awful decisions we had from referees during the first couple of months of the season, and in particular off Lee Probert we were due a couple of bad decisions. I'm not saying it makes the decisions right, but these things even themselves out over the course of a season.
No Stoke fans are claiming the goals weren't offside. They were. However, you really can't hold the Stoke players, and especially not the fans, responsible for bad refereeing decisions. You're just being petty. You have my sympathy for the mistakes, and the manner in which you lost, but please can the minority stop acting like nine-year olds and insulting everything from our hairstyles to our pitch markings in reaction to the defeat!
No, but just as you whined, whinged and felt hard done to earlier in the season you should at the very least grant us the good grace to do the same. I find your holier than thou stance a bit hard to take considering the anti football win at all cost approach mentality your team adopt, but that is my problem not yours. Nothing against the Stoke fans or their players and from the above posts as I can see you understand how we feel and why we are miffed. Good luck for the rest of the season and I sincerely hope Pulis changes his tactics, for football's sake.
LOOK Mackems's WE DID get loads of luck yesterday so, get over it please. We are not holier than though and I do NOT use the Oatcake site, never have never will do. That is exactly why I choose this one which is of course re placing the old 606 forum. Oppinions are fine. YOU don't like the way we play fair enough. So, how come and I agree the ref was TERRIBLE yesterday. At least ONE of your player's wan't sent off. WE didn't like that HACK on Eherington which incidentally led to our winning goal. WHICH by the way wasn't OFF SIDE. Pennant's floated ball into your box and HUTH tapped home. I KNOW it hurts to lose! YOU think STOKE have not been hard done by? DREAM ON it happens and it happens that the SAME ref that gave us decisions yesterday. DID NOT give Tuncay and Stoke a goal v Everton earlier this season. WHICH did cost us, just like you are complaining now. We didn't then. Refs are so bad at times, we all get shafted now and again. NOT just Sunderland.
Mackemman where are you getting this notion that FIFA are going to ban throw ins going directly into the 18 yard box? And furthermore saying will be be "sussed" if this does happen is absolute bollocks! The goal we scored against you from the throw yesterday was like the second in thirty odd games that we have scored from a throw, so before you start bleating on about that , try to actually know what you are talking about instead basing it on stuff you heard in the papers or on TV over a year ago... And yes the officials did have a bad game, and did get some crucial decisions wrong. But I can't really see where they were inconsistent and to accuse them of bias is just plain daft to be honest. As you yourself said we were lucky to win, but that was just it, it was largely done to luck, so it's not our fault...
