Just wanted to send you my congratulations in getting the striker you have been after for so long!

Have heard that Maynard could not see any potential at Festa so he decided agaisnt it.

Beckford knows he can score goals in league one, as he has done it for Leeds for a number of seasons and from what i am told, that is where he thinks he will be playing next season.

Well done on getting a league 1 proven scorer!

Great scoring record in the prem.... Played 33 scored 8

Nearly 28 years old, guess Sven is looking for a long term coach?

Yeah, he was joint top scorer with 10 and most of his games came on as sub. If you look at his goals to minutes played he was their best striker.

    Started 17 scored 10.

Hardly bad return is it my son?

While you're here. How's that defence of your's, did it get patched up alright? New goalie? Couple of new centre halfs? Perhaps a flying fullback?

I assume you did otherwise you'll be right in the ****!

Ah well, we saved 3m while you lost 6m. I'm pretty sure it's you in the **** mete! haha <laugh>

Could you please pass this letter on to Nicky Maynard when you have a chance,

    Dear Nicky,

Please accept our sincerest apologies on behalf of all Leicester Supporters on not completing your transfer. We had resolved to offer £6.5Million for you, a player with an injury worry and a year left on his contract, but your chairman did not even give it the time of day. I am sorry that we never got the opportunity to offer you a lucrative 30K+ salary that you deserver, a realistic chance of promotion to play in the EPL that you deserve, a chance to play in front of a large fan base that you deserve and the chance to play within a quality setup.

Instead you now find yourself playing for a club destined for a relegation scrap, with some of the lowest gates this season, on your current contract of pocket money, for an unknown manager who doesn’t even have the fans (the 3 that there are) favour and the likes of McGivern throwing route 1 long balls for your supply.

We wish you the very best and when you decide to move for a free in 12 months time I hope that you find the EPL challenge that you have been sorely looking for. I cannot guarantee that the few Robins will be too happy that a potential £7Million player left for nothing a year later but that is down to your board and not yourself.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Garry Lineker

You were just getting desperate and im guessing Sven looked at the market and thought....

"Lets see what club are desperate for the money"

    "I know! Everton"

"Now lets look at their reserve team and see who we can get"

"Brilliant, a league one top scorer nearing retirement, lets get Beckford in!"

Cant be sure it went 100% like that, but its gonna be close :)

    On another note...

Our defence maybe s***e, but you only managed to score 1, so that makes your attack pretty damn woeful!

Come off it, i mean Beckford of all players, you must admit that this was panic buying at its best!!!

Andy Johnson was our rumoured panic buy, Beckford, imo, will work harder than Yakubu.

Don't worry, youv'e got Ryan McGivern on loan .... <laugh>

Whilst i agree our defence is awful, Festa and Bristol City have both conceded the same amount of goals, the only diference being, yours are mainly conceded at home and ours are conceded away.

So what were you saying about our defence?

Your defence has just got a whole lot worse - Ryan McGivern cost us more points than anything last season!

Also its early in the season and our whole defence is new. A defence needs to know each other, how to read each's play etc...when they settle in then the quality will show. Your defence on the other hand...but your right im sure Swindon will win the cup this year

Your defence doesn't include 4 new faces though does it?

We need time to gel. We have played Reading and Southampton at home who will be up there this season.

You're right in the **** now mate, honestly I can't see you avoiding the drop.

    <ok>

Beckford for 3m doesn't smell of panic buy to me.

If we'd have bid something absolutely stupid like 7m for Maynard then yes, that would have been a panic buy.

But instead we got a proven prem goalscorer for less than Brighton got CMS.

    Job well done Sven :)

Terrific, another jealous small club WUM. Maynard will no doubt be playing in the prem next season, maybe with us, maybe not, but certainly not with you'd in league 1 :p

Now you are chatting bull ****

38 games scoring 10 goals 2 of which were in the mickey mouse cups.

Lets compare to the league one stats....

2008/09 42 games scoring 34 goals, now that is a proven record!!

Hey what does it matter - youve kept a top striker (no doubting that), youve kept your quality manager, youve kept your chairman with all of his millions that he spends wildly, youve kept your defence the way it was - so your ship is well and truely steady. I dont see your problem with trying to rock our boat.

Now please return to your board - there must be a thread about how excited you are to be playing the Gas next year in League 1. Up the Bristol!

I would also like to congratulate your team.

Congratulations for throwing away your best and probably only chance of getting the funds you needed to replenish a squad that even you must admit needs new faces. Congratulations for turning down very good money for your only player of real value who will probably leave for nowt in 12 months time.

As for Beckford, you can't be sure he'll flop in the same way we can't be sure he'll be a hit. However, we can take hints and pretty good judgements based on his previous record. 30 in League 1, 10 in the Premier League, he's now in the Championship; you do the math son <ok>.

If anyone's the real losers of yesterday, it's you and not us.
