Hi Potters, long time no chat but we're back (where we belong??)

As you are well aware, Stoke pay visit to Carrow Road at the weekend, a place where you don't always get what you want, or sometimes deserve, so what's the feeling for this upcoming fixture?

FWIW I think this will be the toughest game for Stoke between the two teams for some years. While Norwich are not blessed with any 'names', the 'team' is far superior to that under Chris Hughton last time, and under Paul Lambert before.

If I was to put money down, I would plump for a 2-1 of 2-0 home win.

    Over to you guys <cheers>

It's always tough at Carrow Road (I remember us losing 6-0 in 1963 during our D2 promotion season!!). More recently of course, Norwich have had the better of things I think. It's early days and we are looking for our first win of the season. We should have Shaqiri making his debut and Stoke fans are looking forward to that. We produced a great fightback at Spurs last time out but we had a poor first half. If we start badly on Saturday I fear could struggle. Would be happy with a draw but obviously would like all 3 points.

My record for Stoke games is a real mixed bag. I saw us batter you 5-1 on the opening day of the season in the early 80's, boring 0-0 draws, a 2-0 home defeat the season Stoke got promoted (Stoke were the best side I saw that season) and a cancelled game which I only found out on arriving in Norwich after travelling by train from Peterborough.

    Hi Nick

Yup, CJ was a revelation for us last season and we are forever indebted to Mark Hughes for letting him go. It will be interesting to see if he can manage 10+ goals this season. Maybe he really is only a very good Championship striker and not a decent PL striker, only time will tell. What is certain is that he will get a fair crack of the whip to prove himself this season.

We will be having a matchday thread appearing later in the week. Once that is up and running I will post it here and you guys will be more than welcome to visit and join in <cheers>

For a team hoping to push on for Europe these are the so called bread and butter games we should be winning , but and that's a big but, it's early in the season, we have our best defender out injured, Norwich are ne push overs and no game in the prem is ever that easy. I'm hoping for a win but would settle for a draw.

If we play like we did against Spurs in the second half I think we will win. If we play like we did in the first we will struggle.

I think we have enough quality to win this one. I read the Sunderland posters , who admitted they are poor , but saw Norwich as a bit lucky to get more than a draw.

Given the margin of victory, and how comfortable it was (by all accounts), I am quite surprised to read this. The stats for the game, for what they are worth, also paint a very different picture. Could it be little more than sour grapes?

Well they were certainly watching a different game to me, 'lucky to get more than a draw?', Sunderland hardly had a kick until the young lad Whatmore came on ! We were all over them like a rash for 90 minutes and should really have scored 5 or 6. Yes Sunderland were absolutely shocking, arguably the worst side we have played in 12 months but I really do get so pissed off when it's all about how ****e they were and not how well we put them to the sword.

    Rant over <sorry>

Well lads, call be biased if you wish but I think Jack Butland saved the day for Stoke. Some truly fabulous saves in the 2nd half in which Stoke barely threatened.

Good game overall with Stoke having the better of the first half but feeling a bit hard done by once again tonight.

It certainly sounded like he kept us in it. It's a shame we couldn't keep up the intensity of the first 20 minutes for the whole game. Pleased with the point after the second half.
Good luck for the rest of the season, at least until you come to the Brit :emoticon-0102-bigsm
