I thought that at £2.5m we had overpaid for Darren Bent :( he had a good record at U21 level but nothing special for Ipswich in the Championship.

I thought Leon Clarke was a good signing.

Start of the season I constantly slated Wiggins (to be fair he had a poor few games).

I moaned a fair bit when Kermorgant signed.

Thought Chris Dickson would eventually become our 20 goal a season striker.

I thought Youga was useless in The Championship. To be fair he was until we were relegated.

When I was younger I frequently slated Kishishev. But as I got older I started to see his qualities and eventually fell in love with him when he scored against Everton at home.

I thought Andy Gray would be the missing piece in the jigsaw.

Anyone remember Smertin by the way? Great player.

I still feel our worst signing in recent years was Danny Butterfield...although he could take a good corner.

I thought Chris Solly would never make it and was far too small to be a professional footballer, Millwall away when we lost 4-0 sticks in my memory their left winger tore him apart that day!

I didn't think Chris Solly was good enough for league 1 this time last year

I still think he could have been, WeWant. Such a shame.

"I thought Chris Solly would never make it and was far too small to be a professional footballer"

So did I, Belvedere - when I saw him play 90 minutes for the first time, at Hereford in the League Cup, the midfield just kept chipping the ball over his head and the winger ran on to it. It's a measure of how far he's come and how well he reads the game that I didn't see that happen once last season.

I confess to actually loving Paul Benson and thinking he is the bee's knees.

When he left for Swindon, I wore black for a fortnight and listened to Mozart's Requiem Mass endlessly.

Pavel Abbott was a waste of talent could easily have been a good target man for us.....

Whilst I don't think he was as bad as most think, I thought Rommedahl would be one of the better players in the Premiership. I remember watching him the season before against Newcastle in the Uefa cup and he looked immense.

He wasn't bad, just never fulfilled his potential.

    But THAT goal.

I've been slated for saying it before, but I genuinely thought Abbott was a fairly decent target-man. Some of his link-up play was great, and he used to spray the ball around a fair bit to the wingers.

Sadly he offered nothing going forward and a fair few of his passes ended up wildly mis-placed. Played for us at a bad time in our history and was nowhere near the worst strikers we've seen.

I've said it a million times, but Pavel Abbott provided the very worst performance in a Charlton Athletic strip EVER! Away to Barnet in the FA Cup was the most grotesque offering from a 'striker' I have ever seen.

His goal against Swindon was a peach, though.
