I was testing a thought that under Mick we've never had a great start to a calendar year. The evidence appears to agree with me. What actually surprised me is that despite how negative we're feeling this has statistically been the best Mick January - Not by much and there's a little bit of opinion involved but I feel its better. So although it's been a tough month I think we can take a little re-assurance that it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Comparatively, considering where we have been in the league, it feels a little like it's been the worst January drop in form, that actually belongs to 2012 - 13.

    14 - 15
PPG January: 1 PPG Earlier Season 1.96 Difference: -0.96
    13 - 14
PPG January: 1 PPG Earlier Season: 1.52 Difference: -0.52
    12 - 13
PPG January: 0.5 PPG Earlier Season (Just Mick): 1.92 Difference -1.42

    End of Season recovery?

    12 - 13
PPG Feb onwards: 1.65 Difference from Jan: + 1.15

    13 - 14
PPG Feb onwards: 1.56 Difference from Jan: + 0.56

So yeah, I think the point is, for whatever reason January has never been a productive month under Mick but the Stats suggest he finds us a way back to form. For now we don't need to be overly concerned.

Interesting post that just goes to prove that the boys don't like playing in January!

Tomorrow night is a huge game for us and nothing but a win will do.

Ballmouth play Derby and Watford play Brentford so we have a great opportunity to gain points and make up for some of the ground that we have lost in recent games, If we lose tomorrow then we can forget all about promotion for this season!

In my own humble opinion of course! <ok>

I think win or not Warky the Bournemouth v Derby game is irrelevant to me - they are a different class to us. Derby have added Ince/ Bent and that young striker. Hard to compete!
