First of all a huge apology to my fellow mods for disappearing and not keeping in touch. Same too to CJS, Bb and all other fellow Rovers fans/sufferers. In the first place my broadband went (BT) and it took a week to fix. I don't do Tablet/ Smartphone or internet cafes so that was me stuffed. Also recently I went away for a short break. That doesn't explain the gap in between though. Quite simply something snapped as regards Rovers. I still go to all home games and a few away, but my resentment about how we got where we are hasn't abated; and there's no desire/point in talking anymore, 'cos nothing's changed. No outcomes of a review, no apparent changes at board level, no follow-up Q&A. We're being taken for a ride, and it's still all John Ward's fault. Some may say move on, but I stand on the terrace and see us being outplayed by part-timers, happy to get an away draw against teams recently in Conference South, being told we've signed an obscure MF with hardly any experience when we can't bluddy score goals (don't tell me about Dorchester!), being pleased we've got two players in Engand C when Weston super Mare also have two in that squad!! I don't support Rovers any the less, but everything else to do with the club p***** me off! There, I feel marginally better now!
Brian has tweeted yesterday.... Spoke to NH about next open forum. As you will appreciate lots going on with planning permission. Yay! Hi P49 - absolutely fantabulous to hear from you again We all share your concerns about our club, certainly I do, and we all go marching on becaus even though these are dark days they will end at some point and there must be light at the end of the tunnel... We are Gasheads, long suffering, but our club is in our blood and this forum is the best place to display our pain and our pride! UTG!
Weh hey! Guess who's back?? Got my email then!!! Ha Ha Welcome back my main man, i share your pain in some ways 49, i shared many a discussion with you in the summer and i know how Blue you are (pardon the double meaning) . We tried to push for answers and in a small way i think we made a slight difference regarding communication. But i think the one thing we found out together was it hurts and can ruin our enjoyment of the club....sometimes i think we're all better off turning up, watching the match and going home. Look after yourself mate. You're a Top Gashead in my book.
Didn't even notice you were gone. But seriously, I think we all share your frustrations. You of all people should know it's often a s**t old life being a Gashead, we've reached rock bottom (lets hope) but as always some of us will go on supporting our club no matter what tosspots are running the show. Speaking personally, I've probably said it before, for me it's mostly about the social side more than the football. If it was the other way around I'd probably have packed it in many years ago. Anyhow enough of that, welcome back Pirate.
