Unless his 'nice photo, mashallah' comment was a pisstake, it very strongly suggests that he is Muslim.

Come on - DT could have said the same about a Caucasian bloke called Daz or Gaz and the intentions would have been the same - jovial joshing. If Imaz sees everything as a potential insult, I feel sorry for him.

That's disgusting. Nevertheless, if the poor bloke's seeing every bit of trivial play as a pogrom, maybe this break will do him some good and put things into better perspective. Overall, I'm sure he's a nice gentleman, but even nice gentlemen should be criticized where they are overly dramatic and live with an unfounded faith.

That's a cheap, cheap smear. I signed up to this site never having had a login on the old 606, and wanted to immediately get about the business of bashing some Leeds bashers who'd taken over our board. I wanted something snappy and assertive, and the Italian word for 'the leader' sprang to mind. I've never been a fascist, and when you convinced me the username could be construed as implying that, I didn't hesitate to change it to something I actually had time to think about.

My outlook on the world has for the last few years been the exact opposite of fascism. I believe in liberal society and in liberal economics. Fascists want both those things to be meticulously controlled. I try to have a Socratic mental process, so yes, sometimes I may appear confused and do change my views from time to time. Maybe I have been confused over the last year or two, but my 'rationale', as you put it, is not to put people down because of their ethnic background. It's to be a messenger for the gospel of Leeds United, and a critic of the gospels of irrationality and oppression.

More muck-raking from the past, then. Cheers.

I made a statement last night that my light touch moderating would be put on hold whilst we restore the levels of respect required by the rules.

However, rather than simply chop those that most members place in the frame, I decided to let the thread run as the mirror I spoke of earlier, leaving sufficient rope for the most persistent wummers and worst offenders to either confirm their offensive stance or smell the coffee and wind their necks in.

I apologise to any who feel my decision to delay action has been a bit nauseating but I needed to be left in no doubt that such action be seen by the majority as entirely justified.

This thread - and anything of a similar nature in future, now closed.
