I like most can't stand the man, he really is a "W anchor", but feel it is a bit harsh, as he did get them there, whereas others had failed.

I don't think much of Warnock either (though I liked the way he responded to Bradley Johnson's cheating last week) but why the hell has he been sacked? FFS they aren't in the relegation zone, what do they expect to achieve? Are they suddenly a massive club or something?

thank god he wasn't available when pearson left us - one loony would have wanted him at the kc. him along with pulis and kean should never be allowed within 1000 miles of a football stadium. what's the betting by the end of the month he is blackburn's new manager

He's been sacked because in recent weeks he's developed Phil Brown's penchant bizarre substitutions/tactics and they don't want to wait until they're relegated to change.

There's also the fact the owners took over late in the last transfer window and are about to invest a decent wedge of money in the club. They'd rather have someone they feel can take them further over the next few years deciding who to spend it on than someone who's previously said that they're planning on retiring at the end of their current contract (summer 2013 I think).

What do their board expect from a newly promoted team. I know Norwich and Swansea are doing well but they'll both have periods where they lose regularly. They've still got a chance to strengthen in this transfer window and have a fighting shot of staying up.

I suppose they could try the Leicester ploy and spalsh the cash on anything that takes their fancy.

NEIL WARNOCK has tonight been sensationally sacked by QPR. The Hoops are 17th in the Premier League, just a point above the relegation zone. QPR chairman Tony Fernandes said:

"This decision has been made in the best interests of the club and I can assure everyone that this is not a decision that was made lightly. Sadly, our recent run of poor form has seen us slip alarmingly down the table and the board felt it was the right time to make a change. Neil has acted with honesty, professionalism and integrity throughout his time at the club, and I would personally like to thank him for his significant contribution to QPR over the last 22 months. I genuinely wish him all the very best for the future and he will always be welcome back at Loftus Road."
