Worst game I have seen O'Shea play for anyone - his distribution was appalling ..... the captain's curse perhaps? I think Whickham was the last man standing, the only nearly-fit forward with a physical presence. Certainly not match fit. Difficult to criticise anyone really after a brilliant second half and last ten minutes.
Bloody hell a bite out of Cest do I win a prize? I was joking mate. And after "I **** on a badger" accused me of looking up to you too.
I have to agree with that, That's why the young Irish lad looked so good, he just got his head down and got the bal in early rather than waiting 20 minutes to cross it. It's just the urgency we've been needing. He stood out a mile. Thought Ricco played well today, better when he moved inside. O'Shea was awful and has been a poor buy to date. Bardo was off colour today. We won today due to a positive crowd and Keans negative tactics (had they had a go we were shakey) Grafted hard though. The result was the important thing but how they won it will help too for confidence
Thought JC was mostly solid, more so in the second half. (Good substitution by MoN though - attack). Thread re McLean: looks a threat; big lad, persistent, and a LWer! > Singing to me'self driving back: can we use this song?..... "Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way;oh what fun it is, to be a Sunderland fan today". No copy-right! Onwards and upwards!!! Been off these posts ages. Back "home"; seen previous 4 dire games, and have me tickets for the Everton & MCity games, then back to warmer climes. Great result!
Hmmmm that reminds me of someone we once sold to merseyside for 18 million !!! Jeeees, c'mon lads....... Colback did a lot of hard graft today .... that was obviously unoticed by the majority of you. He was terrier like, always offering himself as an outlet moving into spaces. Some neat one touch stuff when under pressure...... and he is still only 22. He reminds me of a young Paul Scholes ( just needs to score yet !!!! lol). He will only get better in my opinion and I would like to let him grow in the 1st team for 5 more games at least. Confidence is a wonderful asset..........
I have nothing but admiration for Colback, he is given an unglamorous job to do and does it well, a thankless task but someone in the team has to be holding m/f
That's not a bite kidda, just a love nibble. Lol I've always admired players like Colback as I was always the grafter as well when I played. Not pretty but I liked to hassle and harry opposition players and make tackles. No glory but lots of guts. Got a ****ed Achilles and arthritis in my big toes to show for it though now. Lol
Colback didnt have a bad game and he is a decent player but he should be, at this point in time, a squad player or a fresh pair of legs to bring on later in a game. For what he does and the role he plays, Meyler is a much better option than both him and Cattermole and should start alongside Vaughan for the majority of games. We shouldnt start relying on Colback the same as we did last year with Henderson, not unless we want to try and get another 20M off Liverpool at least
