I think we are either going to blow Bristol socks off with an offer for Maynard. Or/and will will go after the Yak/Heskey again

    Trust Sven

And at the 3M quoted for CMS i am genuinely glad he has signed for Brighton and not us. 1.5M then i would take him but not any higher

Well lets stoke up the Bristol City fire again...

and wait for the impending number of Robins fans who will state the exact opposite of what is being reported in the media

Seems to be scared that he can't offer more than to be a lower league championship goalscorer. Well, you never know, if this is true, he could well be back in league 1 next year, wave your peak years goodbye CMS :emoticon-0143-smirk

Btw, im not saying i dont want him still, i just think that this move is totally stupid for a player that should be getting 20+ goals this season at a club that can feed him enough chances.

This whole CMS saga seems very strange to me.

We have a bloke who has never really played much above league 1, is 27 and will probably not have too many more chances to play in the Premier League.

    On that basis:
I was surprised when it was reported that he’d turned down QPR and Norwich for us.
I was bemused when he was stalling between us and West Ham.
But I’m absolutely astounded if he’s chosen Brighton above all of us.

I thought it was a reflection of the paucity of resources out there that these big clubs were battling it out to pay £3m for him. He looked over-priced at that, but if it does all end like this it will be quite bizarre.

I was one who was hoping we signed him, but only on the basis that I’ll feel more comfortable when I know we’re not starting the season with Waghorn and Howard up front. If we get any of the other options I’ll quickly move on.

He never turned down Norwich or QPR, that was just spin from Barry Fry to get his players price up.

He's gone for £2.5m(potentially rising to £3.25m with add-on's) and frankly, he's not worth that much, so your better off without him(Norwich saw sense and switched to Danny Graham for £3.5m, which was far better business).

As for why he went there, they have a new stadium, it will be sold out next season, he will be their No.1 star player, they have one of the best managers in the league and his missus probably fancied living on the south coast. These things happen.

Good luck to the lad and to Brighton. I think he is taking a bigger chance with them than coming to us but that's his choice. This was a very very messy transfer and I am disapointed but footie transfer business is not straight forward. I now hope we go hell for leather for Mills and Maynard.

I would prefer Nugent and Maynard. Hopefully this also means we keep Waggy

Im dissapointed tbh, i would have liked to see what he could do at a contending club, i honestly can't see Brighton doing anywhere near as good as what Norwich did last season.

Have i missed something? because i thought Maynard was as good as over when they rejected our offer, ive heard nothing concrete about us trying to get him again.

The Nugent thing though ... what is he playing at?

All this talk about him "bottling it" and having a massive ego is ridiculous. It makes us all look bitter; people were incredibly excited on Friday at the prospect of signing him and it looks churlish to start slating the fella now.

TalkSport say that he wanted assurances he would play in the first team and Brighton gave them to him and showed they wanted him. Fair enough, hope Brighton do alright and good luck to CMS.

We need to sign a striker, I'm sure Sven realises this. We needed to sign a striker in October last season and we got the Yak. Let's all calm down....

Im not bitter, in fact, no-one is, would have loved him here, just saying he wont score as many goals this season at Brighton as he would have here. I cant see why he would have turned us down.

I think most neutral supporters see this as an odd move.

But like was said by someone before, we got Danns ... you win some, you lose some

CMS, think he has gone as he is guaranteed first team football which maybe he wasn't guaranteed elsewhere. BHA are ambitious and things are on the up there but Poyet actually stated that he is building his whole team around CMS. So at BHA HQ it's "All arise King Craig" - bet the lad is on a higher singing on fee and salary than we were offering as he spoke to them after us again (as I understand)! He's not gone for best chance to play in Premiership - he's gone to be the main man in a smaller set up but I reckon with more money. Its a bit like having the choice of being on the board of directors at M&S or being the CEO of BHS.............he chose the latter.

It's all a bit bizarre - can't believe that Brighton offered him more in terms of wages - and if his ambition is truly Premier league it makes no sense (with all due respect to Brighton) to turn down either us or West Ham given our standing as pre-season favourites .. perhaps he just fancies the sea air or something else that Brighton offers ... Hey is CMS has chosen Brighton because they are going to offer him guaranteed first team football then good look to him. He was making a football decision. He cant have picked them on ambition. Im not saying they have none just saying its not as big as us or West Ham

Oh well lets move on as i am sure Sven already has
