Is it my immagination,or are threads being closed,a)prematurely, and b)too frequently?

Who decides when a thread should close?

Have you been reading my mind Vetch ? My thread was closed because someone who has never met me decided that it was a wum and designed to antogonise. Nothing could
have been further from the truth, i don't even know who the mods are anymore or why I bother. There seems to be some really big egos on here.

This appeared on a thread further down the page:

"Sorry just closed this thread to move it out of the general forum, after some disgusting posts from the idiots who lurk there, just opened it back up now"

Could it be .... that we may be at fault for putting our threads on a general board .... rather than just the Swansea board. Perhaps one of the 'MOD's' could advise?

4 threads in the last month have been closed because of petty squabbling, so hardly frequently at all, now people are complaining because of the petty squabbling below

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/90846-this-use-to-be-a-forum..

Now you are complaining because of threads being closed, so what do you want, a forum of petty arguments or a forum where people can debate football?

And who decides when a thread get closed? the moderators or admins of the forum

If a multi thread is placed on the general forum as well as ours it pisses people off as the general forum is not about football

Jager, I was not getting at you in any way. However, reading the comment above, are we clicking a button we shouldn't, or, ar we not clicking something we should? I would never, ever, want to write an article for any 'General Board', I am Swans through and through, that is only where I will write. So what could we be doing wrong?

when you post a new thread, don't choose any of the options below this text

then it only posts on one forum, I guess sometimes it does happen on random occasions that when a thread is submitted it chooses general as well, its the first one on the list, so could be a bug in the code

I would really like to know WHICH mod decided to close these four threads. I think I already know the answer.

Can't lay any claim to reading your mind,Dill, perhaps it's a case of great minds thinking alike.

I get the distinct impression, that the closing of threads is for the comfort of the person doing the closing. In addition,I had a new thread removed within seconds of it having appeared.

The combination of these actions makes me very uncomfortable, and this forum is fast becoming a no go area, for me anyway.

As I mentioned in the thread just closed, I did that, Scott by the looks closed one, and Phil the other 2 , so was that the answer you were looking for?

I see he has now been removed, but it made me think.

No problem Jager, but I seem to remember banning him was the reason you gave for becoming a mod.

As Rhett Butler so sweetly put it,"I don't give a damn",whether he's banned or not, now.

Thanks for that Vetch, glad to see this hasn't been closed yet.

So am I right in thinking Jager closed my thread earlier ? If so why ? What's so offensive about it ?

Also is John Hughs banned off our board ? I can't see any of his postings on here any more

Dilli there was nothing wrong with the thread itself, just that there was petty squabbling on there that is detracting from the forum and possibly stopping people coming here, honestly I can't win if I continued arguing with vetch it would serve no purpose, and people would rightly criticise the both of us, to prevent that the thread was closed rather than deleting comments.

I hold up my hands I ain't perfect , but bongo on that thread summed it up

Right, I'm going to start a new thread but it's for happy people only as the bickering needs to stop.
