Something different guys. What's your view on Mark Clattenberg coming back to ref again. I for one feel sorry for the bloke, who has been shafted by Chelsea and JOM. The police lobbed it out and the FA said he had no case to answer, but he still missed 4 matches because it took so long to resolve. The pity is that he will now always get stick from sections of every crowd he's officiating in, which won't be nice. Refs will always get a bad press because they're human, but to have your career almost ended because of a bit of spite is a joke.

I wish the bloke well <ok>

Couldnt agree more. Even if he is a twat off the pitch as well (I dont know this, personal experience is most refs are!) he doesnt deserve his whole career to be stained by a player & football club that will just put the incident behind them. Thats his life's work there.

Really feel sorry for him & thought it was utter bullshit as soon as I heard it.

Have Chelsea or the player(s) issued an appology? I very much doubt it.

Lets hope he can put it behind him & carry on as before. I wonder when the next time he will ref at chelsea will be?

I think the fact that both he and John Terry missed 4 games each says a lot about the incomptence of top flight officiating off the pitch.

    An absolute shambles.

no doubt he'll get some unnecessary chants of "racist" from now on when hes not helping their team win, fans dont care if hes got nothing to answer for or is innocent, like Dave Jones and the child abuse chants he gets.

Feel sorry for him, as he wont be able to get away from it.

I have asked you this before and you failed to reply, so I'll ask again where's your evidence against Dave Jones???

Perhaps we should forward your e-mail to his Legal Team?? Slander cases are good earners for the legal profession!

Interesting Bucks. Do you know many refs? I know a lot (and I mean, a lot!), and they are really great, normal guys with a massive amount of passion for the game of football and ensuring that what they do is the right thing, without fear or favour.

And off the pitch, they are generally witty, fun, and very enjoyable company.

I just find it hard to accept your generalisation, unless there is a North-South divide here of course, and it's just northern refs that are great

Read something yesterday from Houghton, who said he was chuffed to bits to have him as Ref, and knew the Norwich fans would be applauding him

It was a sweeping generalisation there but I have done my basic referee's Course and know what a hard job it is. I have also been involved with one of our local clubs coaching players from 5 upwards and helping out with admin duties like liaising & booking the officials & I found the higher level of the referee the more they found it hard to leave the hard head required on the pitch. We had a few ex coppers & a few ex squadies in that mix who have obviously come from very disciplined background, maybe that played a part in it.

Chelsea did approach Mark Clattenurg, and offered him a substantial donation of money to smooth over the allergations!
    Clattenburg replied to them

"JUST GIVE ME A MONKEY AND WE SHALL FORGET ABOUT IT" <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Dave Jones is actually a *****phile though. 7 Lads were willing to go to court to say so however 2 of the most important witness were to scared and backed out so the judge through it out. 7 Lads willing to swear on the bible to say he abused them or one prick of a football manager. I know who i'm believing. I'd put a hundred pounds he would never sue if a newspaper called him it as civil courts don't have to prove without a doubt that the person is guilty.
