I used to think of City as my second team when they were ****e but I cheered like we'd scored when Griggs did. I already don't like them under Guardiola and it'll get worse over the years if he stays and they do dominate. Nothing in particular to speak of they just get on my tits now.
I used to like City, and went to a few games in the 80's with some City friends. I enjoyed the fans and atmosphere much more than at Utd. I lost all respect, though, the season that they won title with the 2 late goals. Fans streaming out cos they thought that they wouldn't win the title - even though their side were well capable, as it proved, of scoring two quickly, or even little old Sunderland maybe scoring an unexpected goal to pull Utd back - then trying to scramble back in to be part of it. Even if they'd lost , surely you'd stay to say thanks for a great season, well tried. A while back I read one fans story where he described his sprint back to the stadium after he heard the last goal on the radio as amazing and exciting. How amazing if he'd stayed and supported instead of crying off.
I feel for the supporters like, 16 points clear, last 8 of champions league, league cup final, should they leave £200m worth of players on the bench what we should have that worry ! poor Chris would not be able to cope. To think they were as bad us at one time. And talking about Wigan now THAT'S how you play football to all our Sunderland players getting ready for the 'titanic' match tonight. Even Rochdale play better than us.
I've watched a few of these "lower league teams" playing against, so called, bigger and better teams in the past few weeks and any one of them would beat our lot without too much trouble. The skill levels and the desire and commitment of these teams, emphasises just how poor we are at present.
Agree. Watching Rochdale I just thought how composed and confident they were, in themselves and each other. You could “see” they understood the team job , their individual job and just what to do. They’d have had no trouble taking us to the cleaners
