Perfect response reference Martins assists-the guy as well as Wells look so pissed of at the moment.

Excellent strikers in a struggling side.

On a different note before the game City and Millwall players gathered together behind a kick it out flag (photo attached), but for our sheep like players that was not enough unlike Millwall who stood before kick off ours took the knee with several giving the black power salute.

Probably their most telling move of the night.

Enough is enough, try playing football, we get it OK.

Sadly them's is the rules set out by uncle Steve and carried out by Saint Mark.

The truth is even with those great players we sold at great profit, we still were not a 'team' because the glue that gels it altogether is the midfield and the knock on from not having a midfield that is fit for purpose is that is starvation of chances created for strikers, basically making AG the graveyard of strikers and the pressure on our defence resulting in shipping in goals.

But the biggest problem of all is actually knowing who scouts and signs the replacements? Who is responsible for Diedhiou, Massengo, ODowda, Hunt, Rowe, Brunt, Marriappa and a host of other signings and loans that never worked out and especially Kasey Palmer, that signing was just pure madness

I watch City to be entertained, I don’t want to watch a team play with 70% possession yet never get the ball into the opposing penalty box, I am so sick of watching our back 4 and midfield trying to play keep ball and eventually giving the ball away, for god sake get the ball to our strikers. Even when chasing a game the tack ticks are the same, so frustrating

I thought Engvall, Diony and Kent were revelations.
Not to mention Bailey Wright, Mo Eisa or the great Marley Watkins.......etc etc

    Wasted, 4 wasted years.

And now Junior's gone the spotlight should shine on Mark Ashton.
Ashton is in credit due to the monies we received from our Academy boys, Webster and Brownhill.
    But for how much longer?

My mates that I sit with, had a conversation around season ticket renewal time last season (before the pandemic) and our decision was, the football on offer might be dire but for a bunch of friends from upwards of 50 years or more, getting together having a few beers before and after the game was more important, sad but true.

I think we would all love the answer to that question..My belief is that the coach expresses a position that needs to be filled.....A list of players that are available or looking to move are put forward, probably at very inflated prices and the coach requests enquires on the ones that may suit the role..
The other problem apart from the fee & wages, is if they want to come here in the first place. The decent ones will obviously look for bigger or more successful clubs.

We seem to be great at selling and apart from a few exceptions crap at signing.

We would never see our money back on Diedhiou, Hunt, Wells, Nagy, ODowda and probably Kalas.

Also Dean seems to be turning us into a retirement home, much like GJ did.

I hope that at least you and your mates enjoy the beers but it looks like the afters will be a dog's breakfast again this season - now there's a surprise. As far as the lot that are serving up these less than tasty treats the words piss up and brewery immediately come to mind. We have people running Bristol City who have absolutely no idea where they want to be and worst of all they have no clue as to how to achieve their objectives. No wonder the TV cameras rarely show up, which in some way is a good thing, because who else in the rest of the country would want to watch the crap served up at Ashton Gate?

WE have had some crap results, timid, almost cowardly performances, relegation problems are already being suggested, we need to emphatically improve but in the cold light of day it's stupid for people to say sack DH, he was appointed in August, it's now December, 5 months only, we have played 19 games only, we are still in 8th position, this is no worse than LJ achieved in simular circumstances, he has had to endure Covid 19, 10 players out injured, he has a 12 month contract I believe, he should be allowed the transfer window to bring in players of his choice and at least given to the end of the season to try and produce results, if he fails that is the time to issue the boot.

Ashton and Lansdown chose Dean for the job, with all of the upheaval Junior's leaving created, he has done well in a quiet, adult, mature fashion taking over the reins, MA and SL should open up the coffers, invest in some quality additions and allow DH to clear out the non performers he inherited, we should all stand behind the new guy and give him the means and time he deserves, when he was given the job I was disappointed, I am happy for him to continue, develop the team and hope for improvement, now is not the time to panic.

I agree, the last two games in particular though have been awful to watch, last night in particular was very predictable and yet we didn’t seem to have learned anything from the Rotherham game, and to top it off DH, who so far at least, has been honest about our performances suggested we were better than Saturday, yeh right...

Message to Rod. The only coverage I get over here is on DAZN and City games are virtually non-existent. I went on the site yesterday and checked Championship coverage but as usual Bristol City weren't listed as being in that division. I wonder if they know something we don't? Was there a point in our history where we upset the TV channels that made them turn away from Ashton Gate and perhaps it was the rights deal of 2-3 years ago when City, and four others, rocked the boat by setting up their own coverage?

The lack of coverage is blatantly obvious and I wonder why?

My argument to that is if the board wanted to progress why change nothing other than the coach, surely there was a plan?..
You say it's no worse than LJ. but the performances that I've seen are no better either although we have managed the few extra points (as it stands)!!!.
If LJ's philosophy wasn't working for what the board was looking for, did they really think by changing the coach was gonna solve the problems?

I agree with you, changing the coach won't make things any better but they've made their bed, they need to invest in that change.
This says to me was it LJ that was the problem or Ashton.....we will find out soon enough!!

Mate that was no dig at LJ but 4.5 years compared with just 5 months seems rediculous.

Understood Wiz, ordinarily, I would be in full agreement, and the only reason I said he should go so soon (and I give our managers more time than most on here), is because he was the No 2 for 4 years. In that period he would have known what was needed to improve, and if he was communicating that to LJ and being ignored, then he now has his chance to step up, and to my mind, he is blowing it. If he cannot see the issues after more than 4 years at the club that have been glaringly obvious, i.e. a midfield general and leader, then he never will, so why waste any more time, and in Jan money?

Results are about PAR with LJ, but the performances are way below, that concerns me more than the results tbh.

But apparently we changed coach to progress in what we had, but of what I've seen so far we haven't.
I really do mean this..........I really hope that Dean & co turns this bad run of form and dire football around, I hope it's just a blip........otherwise the whole exercise would have been pointless IMO
