Shiny, you ask why we were so far down the league with Cisse playing?

Well you have missed the fact that when Millen was in charge Cisse wasn't playing for whatever personal reason millen had, when cisse came back we improved dramatically, Jambo is right, Cisse is easily the best DM we have. our results improved when he came back.

Anyone who has played football will tell you when you get started like that its a struggle just to get on an even keel again, this is one reason I Have faith in Del for next season.

Everybody on here keeps banging on about a creative midfielder, what we have been missing is a striker who brings the midfield in, not the other way round. but thats for another thread!!

We will need at least 6 capable MF'S for next year (a couple flexible enough to go wide now and again) and Elliot Cisse and Skuse would all be good to have as options.

For me skuse is the best midfielder. Since he has come back and played in midfield we have not lost a game.

He is the stevie G of the championship. Covers the who pitch. Gets in inch perfect tackles and he is now getting more forward which has lead to his passing game getting better and two goals in two games is very good. Hopefully he will improve more again next season if he gets to play in midfield and not at right back.

Also should be the player to wear the arm band. Supported the club as a youngster and leads the team by example

Marvs work rate is excellent but I agree his first season with us was his best and that was years ago. Not unusual for players to shine when they first arrive and then go off the boil...stand up Michael McIndoe !

Im hoping Albert isnt going this way. seems that since Maynard has left and DM has come in he has gone from one of the best wide players in the league to a player who just makes the bench

In Marv's defence Millen had him playing as a target man (for kicks out from the keeper) as well as box to box and winning Kilkenny's tackles all in the same game - the poor lad was knackered after 70 minutes and I'm not suprised.

Which is it ? Do you prefer Elliot or would you rather a creative midfielder ?
    Because Elliot is not one

If McDel can find another Whittingham somewhere then that would be an important discovery. I agree that Elliott is behind Pearson, Cisse and Scuse if he maintains his form of the last 10 games (but THAT remains to be seen). I can see Elliot and Kilkenny moving on if Cisse stays here

'Elliott is behind Pearson, Cisse and Scuse' - All different Midfielders.

    Wait till August.

    Elliot and 10 others.

    You can argue with McInnes.

Well every manager that has come in, has never dropped elliott?? he must do something right for 4 managers to keep him in there side

My opinion is we are a lot better side with elliott than without him

Hardly a ringing endorsement considering what we've achieved since our first season when i'm sure most would agree Marv was a lot better. Two managers were roundly berated and eventually fired for not succeeding, Coppell obviously wasn't here long enough to judge <ok>

He was played by Millen every game because he brown-nosed so much in training, hence being named Millen's captain and pissing off certain squad members.

But obviously with Del coming in, fresh manager etc will be interesting to see who he picks after a full pre season to evaluate.
