First year pros and triallists in action tomorrow Manager Darrell Clarke this morning confirmed that he will be taking a squad consisting of triallists and first year professionals to take on Cirencester Town tomorrow night (kick off 7.45). The manager has run the rule over ten triallists during the first week of pre-season training and it is hoping to include all of them in his squad. The first year pros are Danny Greenslade, Aaron Ward-Baptiste, Jamie Lucas and Dominic Thomas. The game takes place at the Corinium Stadium, Kingshill Lane, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 1HS Admission prices are as follows: Adults £8, Concessions £5, U-16's £1
We know 2 of the trialists... Defender Pierce Mitchell and midfielder Lewis Taaffe. The other 8 (according to todays Post) is thought to be made up predominantly of youngsters released from Championship and League One clubs at the end of last season. The names of all the trialists are set to be revealed shortly before kick-off.
Clarke on the trialists: "We've had a good look at them over the first week of pre-season training and they have all worked very hard. There isn't anyone in particular who has stood out, but they have all done fine. It will be good to have the opportunity to see them in a game situation and then I will be making my mind up quickly on who and how many will stay on with us for a bit longer. I don't want to mess any of the lads about because they need to know where they stand. If they are not in my plans I want them to know that pretty quickly to give them plenty of time to set themselves up with another club. I want to work with a squad of around 22 or 23 players, so I'm still working to try and do some business to fill the four remaining places. In an ideal world I'd like to do at least one this week if I can, but there are no guarantees at this time of year when a lot of players are keeping their options open and trying to get the best deals they can." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Triali...istol-Rovers/story-21341166-detail/story.html
