I can plug in my ipad to the HDMI port on the TV and watch the contents but it's not very good for watching Tigerplayer because for some reason the browser refuses to go full screen when I click on the option in the Tigerplayer. My two Android devices don't seem to allow a video output through a cable from the jack provided. Has anyone got Chromecast and used it to watch Tigerplayer on an Android device? Any good?
I've got Chromecast, but I haven't used it for Tigers player. I've used the Red Bull app amongst others though and it works well. I'd have thought though if you were using Chromecast for Tigers Player it would be better just having a Chrome browser open on your laptop/desktop and using that so you can get the best quality video. I do that when I'm streaming anything and then just keep using the laptop for whatever else I want to do. I'm just basing the video quality comment on things like iplayer that weren't specifically made for Chromecast but have the option having HD video on the website, but the phone/tablet apps being lower quality video.
Thanks for that. I can watch Tigerplayer OK on my desktop but it's in a little box room and I just fancied watching it in the living room through the TV.
I bought one of these recently, its excellent. I can take my Nexus 7 android tablet to my friends, load up BT Sports (he doesnt have it), what is playing on the tablet when connected with the Slimport adaptor cable plays on any HDMI tv (with the appropriate HDMI cable). So hey presto BT sports on the big TV in HD. You can get cheaper off ebay, but the quality is poor, get a decent one from Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-slimport-to-hdmi-adapter-a34qh?gclid=CLigjZvR1scCFUu6GwodKDUHwA
The only caveat to the above, is you have in essence a 50" android tablet on the tv screen. Be very careful at half time if anyone picks your tablet up and browses the web on it, make sure you have deleted your internet history first, all manner of things could pop up on the tv.......whistles innoccently.........
So get the chromecast, run tigersplayer on the desktop in the box room, and you can stream that to the chromecast in the other room. So long as they're both (the chromecast and the computer/phone/tablet) on the same wifi network it doesn't matter where in the house they are because all the "talking" they do with each other is done through your wifi not directly between the two devices.
