I won't be going to my office party - made some excuse about having already made plans. Never really liked them as drinking heavily and restraining yourself from telling your colleagues exactly what you think of them has always been a rather difficult task. I also resent spending a shed load of dosh to spend the evening in the company of people who i'd rather eat my own intestines than socialise with Still, i know lots of people do quite enjoy them so where are you all heading off to for yours this year?
I have about five lunches and dinners lined up pre-Christmas. Not going to the official do though as being single again I shall just make a tit of myself.
No. Just not going. Also have my daughter that weekend. Could have rearranged but my priorities lie elsewhere. Nice of you to take an interest though.
I'm not going.... Just too awkward. I think I've said it before but years ago I was selling tickets to the Christmas party. I always got roped into **** like that because I am apparently quite the character in real life. Anyway I asked this rather grumpy guy from the office if he was going to go.... One of these guys who has disdain for everyone and everything. "Why the **** would I want to go to that? You ****s don't talk to me for the rest of the year, why would you start now just because it is Christmas". I ****ing loved that guy.
This was back in London village. I laughed as though he were joking....he wasn't. We got on great after that.
I hate the stuffiness of the formal nights out. Prefer the smaller off the cuff meals. All that forced "niceness" doesn't sit well with me.
Am no having a xmas company do. Seeing as I work in a company of one it seems to put the other revellers on a downer when they see me sitting on ma todd, wearing a party hat, with nobody to pull ma cracker with.
We could have a night out for us sole businessmen and (fingers crossed) women. At least when it reaches the point when we're talking shop it wont be to the same ****s we do so with nearly every day of the year.
