Disgraceful in my book. Brighton survived. I thought he did a really good job for them - as he did for Newcastle before.
    Football is cruel sometimes.

It depends on perception of what is good.

Their football? Many people would rather watch something else. That is not an unrealistic expectation of being winners it is a case of what do you want to watch on a Saturday etc .. Brighton's football became ultra conservative and rigid. Meanwhile down the road there is Bournemouth who are not.

The sad thing with some clubs they do not put the money in … enough … and expect miracles from the manager, I would love to see Brighton relegated next season would serve them right..

    It's a far shout.
The easy option would be for you guys to sack Johnson. Tell him he's had 3 shots at it and failed each time.
It's not the right answer though. Could easily end up worse off.

    Where did I say that?
If you read what typed, I actually said changing manager ( I stated Johnson, but equally applies to colin) is not necessarily the right answer. It might be the easy option, but doesn't mean it's the right one.

In a way I kinda agree - but not in that sacking Johnson would be an easy option - I suppose SACKING him would be, but replacing him with someone better would NOT, so I agree there’s a similarity with Brighton/Hughton in that it would be a stupid thing to do to sack the manager - only Brighton actually DID it whereas we haven’t - yet.
As for your lot and Colin - I suppose it depends on whether you think he’ll take you back up again or not. He’s proven himself at getting teams promoted from the Championship but also for failing to keep them there.

PLEASE tell me, in the post I replied to, where in your post it says …and I quote your response …... "I actually said changing manager" ?????

Isn't the summer boring without football.
    So what do you reckon.

Wouldn't it have been interesting if Hughton had been City manager for the last 3 years.
Spending north of £50million, City with Hughton in charge, could well have been looking forward to next season in the Premiership.
1For, it's all conjecture so before you start - LJ has done ok but all I'm wondering is Hughton might well have done better.
He started with a struggling Brighton side in the Championship and took them to the Premiership.

If you get shirty 1For - I'll start a campaign - ''LJ Out' and Chris Hughton In''.
I mean how much longer does our current head coach need

You purposely winding me up RP?:emoticon-0103-cool:
Your quote "LJ has done ok"......but failed to say that he's probably the best manager this club has had since AD.
I grant you, Chris Hughton has done well with other clubs getting them out of the championship & so has Warnnock, both not so good once they get there..both play, in my eyes, football I find boring. (as did, Newcastle, Norwich and now Brighton fans from Hughton).
The football, City have played "at times" has been outstanding and can see what LJ is trying to do...but I do also understand it's about progress and success.
I believe SL needs to open up the cheque book next season and let LJ have a really good go.........Failure, then maybe, he would have taken us as far as he can and we will have to look elsewhere......... (dread to think where that will take us!) :emoticon-0127-lipss

My mate is a Norwich fan - when Hughton was there they played to win 1-0 at home every week

His quote was "I would rather be in the Championship than watch this every week"

    LJ for me!!

Can you name all the signings up to £50m?

I said the other day on here if LJ was to go Hughton would be a Manager I want. Not because of his style like Onefor said some of the football (no where near I would like) has been fantastic. Just a shame we can’t grind out those 1-0 against the poorer teams.

Come on ROD, you should know by now that Redprintt never lets the facts get in the way of having a dig at LJ..... That said, RP has been far more gracious to LJ in the last couple of months than at any other time, perhaps he is coming a "Luvee"?

Without trying to belittle LJ It isn’t purely down to LJ - it’s a collaborative effort. LJ doesn’t control who comes in or out. He may have a say but he is not in charge.

We're the only club in all 4 divisions to have improved our position every year for the past 5 years. If football is truly reflective of game theory, then it seems that whatever we're doing, our processes seem to be correct. LJ has to be a part of that.

Come on Guys I'm trying to liven up the site a little bit, LJ's doing fine.

1For - As for my non-campaign, I'm to busy on the doorstep working for Mr Farage.
