Today is probably the lowest point of Nigel Adkins' tenure as Saints' manager, but, please don't lose sight of the bigger picture, the club is still ahead of the five year plan. Let's not put pressure on the lads this season as I believe that promotion would be a great achievement. My opinion is that we should start building for the higher league ahead of schedule, starting with this transfer window, as there is no guarantee that we will be in this position next season. Investment in the squad now will help the push for promotion and prepare us for the next level. I have always believed in speculating to accumulate, and investment now will be retrieved once we are on the Premiership gravy train. Lastly, keep the faith, a good team and manager does not turn into a bad one overnight, this is a blip and they need our backing more than ever. COYS!
Fair comment . But take a look at the table . If we don't sort our away form out , and start winning at home again , we will be lucky to make the play offs IMHO .
Yes. I'm sure it probably happened under Pardew, though I can't recall it happening. I also think it was our biggest loss since relegation (Wolves maybe? Towards the end of 08/09 season, when the game was over after about 20 minutes)
It's the first consecutive losses in the league under Adkins. Previously we lost to Tranmere in the league followed by Man U in the cup last January.
Halo definitely starting to slip guys. Let's face it, you've led a charmed existence up there for a while now. Your lads will now be suffering a bit of pressure at last.
It's better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all. So long as we finish in the top 6, it will have been a fantastic season. And we're bang on course to do that.
