Do you think the ` top 6` { Man u, Citeh, Gooners, Chelski, Spuds and Bindippers } think they have a divine right to cherry pick the best from the rest? and will we be able to hold onto Ba, Tiote and Cabaye or will Ashley cash in?
I`d love him to add more quality to make our team/squad stronger and push on to bigger and better things and not sell.

It annoys me so much about the so called top 6 think they can have any player they want in the league. I do see Tiote leaving but not Ba or Cabaye. Ashley only cares about money so while he is in charge we will not make significant progress.

It's their divine right as they're so much better than the rest of us.

Well that's what they think anyway. Strikes me their scouting system is to let other clubs unearth the gems, play them for 6/12 months, then unsettle them and wade in with a big bid.

They have the right because of the money they can offer, as well as European involvement. It just makes me laugh that they will continuously throw 20 million at every player and plunge themselves into debt while we continue to unearth gems for a quarter the price.

We could get 6th, imagine if we hadn't got those injuries for the game against Norwich and WBA? We'd be in the top 4 right now.

We have the starting foundations to be a top 6 side, but Ashley doesn't see the need to invest the amount of cash necessary to maintain a top 6 place and push on in Europa Leagu

We already have made significant progress under Ashley.

    This...

Shearer came home, but only 'cause we broke the world record to bring him here!

Their mentality will hopefully change when the fifa financial fair play rules kick in. We will then hopefully find that we are well placed go compete on a proper footing given our financial stability

Yeah this is true, I don't think we'll challenge for the title but I guarantee fat Mike will be after Champs League football. The financial benefits are huge.

I've read on here lately that Ashley is owed circa £135m and once that is repaid the club will be self sufficient ?
If that's the case does anyone know just how much he has already been repaid (eg. Carroll money) and what balance is still to go ?
If he is intent on getting his money back then I fear we will have to continue to unearth gems and sell on for a while yet !
On the other hand I guess if a buyer came in with an offer that more than covered his buy + owed he might sell sooner - assuming that is his strategy - maybe he wants to keep milking the club from player profits for many years to come.

I think 135m is how much he's owed. The original loan was over 200 million.

I have to say that while the policy of being a selling club might not appeal, we have only been on the up these last two years, and if you have a good enough scouting team then you can make it work.

Especially if you sell them then they're ****e for their new clubs...

Or you sell them to a Championship club.

Do Newcastle think they have the divine right to cherry pick from France?

Unless you ONLY have players who've come through the youth ranks, it becomes difficult to criticise other sides who want to sign players; whether they are ours or not.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Arsenal, they seem to be continuosly linked with players but never sign anyone.
