I'll take that, most if not all the players had some sort of run out. It's all about getting match fit at the mo.
In the Championship last year only Brighton conceded fewer goals (two less than us - all the other teams were way off). I'm not too concerned, but we could do with a centre half with a bit more pace than the two we've got. The pattern for the last two seasons has been that Malky plays around with the team for two away games, then goes more serious for the two home games before the season starts. Last year we stuffed Newcastle 4 -1 at home, and looked very good, after experimenting in the away games. Seems he's doing the same again: Chievo and Atletico Bilbao to come at home. We'll get a few pastings - the Jacks did in their first season (as do most teams outside the top six) - but are there three teams worse than us???? Probably, luck does come in to it - despite the common myth that it evens out over a season. What a load of bollux that is.
iggy dont try and compare championship football to premiership football as there is a huge gap.....nobody was better than reading ,qpr and others that came up and thought they would be ok......your defence with no offence intended don't look that good at all and the keeper is looking dodgy and not looking premiership standard....I have hull and palace as odds on contenders for going down and cardiff and stoke as things stand to take the third spot if either cant improve....Its no good having a goal scorer if you spend most of your time defending is it....I know its difficult to attract quality players in the first season and a lot of luck is needed but mm has to find a couple of quality defenders and a keeper to push marshall before the club has to inform the premiership with a list of players for the season...
