lets be honest here, does anyone think the mighty Swans will win? heart says yes but head, with the defensive injuries says no, 2 goal margin imo (i sincerely hope i am wrong)
2 goal margin or less to chelsea would be a good result in my mind. I have a suspicion of a 3-0 to chelsea though....God I hope I am wrong!
lets be posative here,we last beat chelsea at stamford bridge in 1925,weve done it before,we can do it again i think that was lampard and terrys debut season at the club,so the only negative i can see, with players that experienced they may just shade it!
We have a chance, but only if Chelsea play poorly (some of their players just played 120 mins in the Carling Cup). They will be more physical than Arsenal. Sunderland won 3-0 there last season and with Scott Sinclair out to prove a point I am going for a 2-1 win for the Jacks. UP THE JACKS.
i remember watching the chelsea v sunderland match, i wonder if BR makes the lads watch it for inspiration
If the Swans either get stuck in or pass them to death you might be able to hold out for a point but not sure you will take all 3. If you frustrate them for long enough just watch out for the odd 'foul' that wasn't really in or around the penalty box We played well at the Bridge a few weeks ago and had the referee seen everything that was going on, we might have done a little better as Torres should have been sent off.
But chelsea haven't lost any of their last 62 league games against a promoted team - Charlton were the last, April 2001. However none of the promoted sides have played with the style and panache as the Swans..
PGF---I dont think you are likely to see anyone who played 120 minutes last night in the team at the weekend, with the possible exception of David Luiz. But Ivanovic is more likey to play. In fact Terry and possibly Lampard who came on as subs will be the only likely connection with last night who will be starting. Also we at Chelsea are still scratching our heads as to why McEachran was subbed early when he was having a blinder, and my guess is that he may well be first choice over Frank, who age is catching up with, against Swansea. Sunderland did win here last season, 2 days after the appalling dismissal of Ray Wilkins which left all players and staff in a state of shock, and which set us on a blip which lasted for at least half a dozen games! The dismissal was purportedly due to a challenge to a point of view of a Chelsea board director. Scott Sinclair was well regarded here and too good to spend most of his time on our subs bench, which I'm afraid is what would have happened.
Chelsea are a bunch of OAP's. With our speed down the flanks and Torres not able to beat any empty net let alone a form goalkeeper, I'm going 1-0 Swans with Lita being the scorer.
As long as we dont bottle it and get after them. Keep the ball and play the way we can i think we can give them one hell of a game. Can we beat them course we can.
Those oap's though qualify for Europe and have been a top premier league side for many a year, they shouldn't be underestimated, but we shouldn't give them much respect as in over awed, just stick to our principles and play our way. I have put a little money on the swans to win, Rodgers and Sinclair to do one over their previous employers, you see it very often in football so it was worth a few quid, even if it is unlikely.
just read an interesting stat the chelsea have only kept one clean sheet this season and both norwich and wba were level with them until the last 10 minutes
