so we are matching how Chelsea set up? Problem there is Chelsea play that way week in week out!! Not to mention their far superior team!! From an attacking sense who is going to cause more havoc?

    matic fabregass
(whoever plays here haha) Oscar hazard
    costa

    or

    Livermore meyler
    ben arfa huddlestone brady
    jelavic?

we have to stay compact and hope for the best on the counter imo!!

We're going to lose either way, why not go for it and attack as mentioned earlier in the thread? For me, that would be our best and most exciting attacking formation.

I'd agree with this. We've shown that when we go out with a positive attacking approach and play higher up the pitch we can give top teams like Southampton and Spurs a real contest. Its when we drop everyone back and go into a defensive crouch that we look totally outclassed (Man U). Lets go for it...4-4-2...Jelly and Hernandez(?) up front...MF pressing higher...and rely on our strong back 4 and McGregor to hold them. No disgrace in losing to the best team in the Prem but let's at least give them a game and make them work for it. We need to rebuild team confidence for the next few winnable games!!

It was much better value travelling down to That London to watch City at Orient and Brentford in the good old days, eh Hat ?

What's the Chelsea team news like? Aren't they short on strikers?

    Probably was.

I wasn't at old Trafford and have never been to old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford bridge or any of the big rip off grounds hosting the big rip off teams so I couldn't draw a comparison.

I would imagine Id have found more enjoyment per pound at places like Brisbane Road and Adams Park for a pittance than those poor souls found at old trafford for a small fortune and half an arm the other week. The non Manchester united '2nd team' gits anyway.

Take a leaf out of Newcastle's book: 4-1-4-1.

    McGregor

    Rosenior Dawson Chester Robertson
    --------------Meyler----------------------
    Elmo Livermore Quinn Brady
    -----------Jelavic-------------------------

suppose from Brucies POV theres no harm in starting Ben Arfa n Ramirez and saying to them its about your performance in the shirt rather than the result - if you want to still be here in Jan this is your chance

    or

we can play 9 at the back , try to hang on for a goalless festival of funkball

    9 at the back.

We all know it'll be 9 at the back.

We went there with an attacking line up on the opening day last season. We'll soon see if a certain someone is going backwards, and taking us with him.

Like it...but switch Livermore and Meyler...and get the MF four pushed higher up the pitch.

I don't think that's true, I think we could nick a point if we defended well, and countered well too scare them!!

Can your thoughts and convince Bruce. We might not get anything other than self-respect, but that will do right now.

Might as well rest players & those on yellow cards for the winnable games coming up.

I'd go for: Harper, Lenihan, Mcguire, Bruce, McShane,Ben Arfa, Ramirez, Meyler, Quinn, Brady, Sagbo - and no I'm certain that Steve Bruce won't. That's why he's manager and I'm not! Seriously, though, it is an opportunity to rest some key players & give some of the others another chance.

what odds can you get on Fabregas strutting onto the pitch at full time in a leather jacket and flegging at Steve Agnew?

I hope we win, I've been given a season pass from a rich chelsea fan with full hospitality box and dining etc... I would absolutely love to be sat there cheering a winning goal on while enjoying a nice scone and jam and drinking a glass of chardonnay.

I don't see a Normal result happening such as 2-0 or 2-1. we're either gonna win or get smashed 4-0.
