    Not quite sure that makes any sense, Arsenal had the opportunity to buy him but decided not to. Is he supposed to stay somewhere he isn't wanted?

    It was either us or United, either way he was joining a rival.

    Why sell a player, one who was performing pretty well at that, then talk smack about him after you have pretty much dumped him?
    Talk about lacking class.
    They are trying to justify selling him to their fans, much like Arsenal fans are trying to justify Wengers "decision" not to have him back
