Saints away game at Chelsea on Dec 15th is moved because the Blues are involved in the FIFA club cup. This means no match between 8 and 22 December. As if the football programme isn't busy enough. Still within a couple of years it could be us going
I don't think the team should book a week in Ibiza yet as I'm sure there will be some postponed game or cup match slipped in. Just a money spinner for FIFA...makes me cross when EUFA say we have too many games and should cut the PL.
Makle me a bit worried, in that with our early tough games likely to leave us with few points, a gap in games will leave us on still fewer points that others around the crucial Christmas period. Confidence might not be high as a result, and we may go into those fixtures in a low league position, with nerves jangling.
Alternatively we will be able to streak up the league with a few good results whilst everyone else is stuffed full of turkey and marvelling at our sexy football!!! Half-full, my friend!!
Well, certainly more chance of points there than if we don't play at all. It's not beyond the realm - particularly as it is likely to be a transition season for them. I know that confidence doesn't chime consistently with my previously stated concern, but I get nervous with games in hand as opposed to points on the board. But if we're a few points above the relegation zone, then I will feel more comfortable for sure.
Bear in mind they'll be playing 8 league games less this season. I don't expect too much fixture congestion.
Completely forgot about the club world cup. Which just about says everything about that competition. Is it still in Japan or is it in the UAE now?
