I doubt we would be in for him, too much in the mould of Fryatt - and isn't as good. He always reminded me of Chopra, he never really achieved what was meant of him.
Ched Evans was on his way to Boro for £1.2m, but it was dependant on Kris Boyd going to Forest and McClaren binned the deal when he came in. Boro still hope to sign him, but they still need to shift Boyd first, apparently he's on £30k a week.
Could we do a reverse loan with Boyd and Bullard. We would not have to pay 45k a week for JRB to rot in the reserves, we would have Boyd instead. Boro would not have to pay 30k a week for Boyd to rot in the reserves, they would have a Bullard. Both teams are obliged to pay out large sums of money for players they do not want and are unlikely to use. I would prefer to see Boyd in the team than Bullard on gardening leave getting paid for doing nothing.
They bought him for £3m a couple of years back, so he must have some pedigree. Came throught the Man City academy - I know for a fact they rated him very highly. Our chances are practically zero however. The Boro thing looks to be happening. I'd imagine the Boyd/Mowbary relationship isn't too strong, as the later was in charge at Celtic while Boyd was playing for Rangers...
