Just reading The Spy and the Traitor by Ben MacIntyre.
True story of a KGB operative who started as a double agent spying for England in the 80’s.
Heavy at first until you get your eye in on the Russians names, but fascinating. Proper old school spy messages sent by which carrier bags people were using and which chocolate bar they were eating.

Len Deighton's Game, Set and Match trilogy is still a classic fictional version of how things were spy-wise in the latter period of the cold War. I read it again recently and enjoyed it. Reminder of just how different the UK was a mere 35 years ago, culturally and how (better, apart from restaurants, ha) we were.

Reading an hilarious (audio) book from a one-time junior doctor, Adam Kay, called This Is Going To Hurt - The Secret Diaries Of A Junior Dr; saying it's hilarious doesn't really do it justice, it's funny, touching, shocking, stomach churning ... I recommend it to the forum!

Strange death of Europe, Douglas Murray. Enlighteneing, informative, depressing, frustrating, anger inducing, alarming, disturbing ..... and all fact based. But a great read (or listen in my case, on audible).

Anybody read those Mick Herron books, the ones about Slough House?

I've read the whole series now and I still can't decide if I like them or not!

Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker, about the Trojan War from the perspective of a slave girl.

Much better than it sounds! Well, I liked it.
