We call it "Tanking" here in Oz. Bottom teams in Aussie Rules field their best teams but play them out of position so they'll lose and finish bottom. This then gives them 'first pick' in the "Draft" for next season (which is where the new star larkers are coming from - they also barter the bigger teams who will offer them 2-3 players for the 'draft pick'). From what Katanga has said he feels the team are not trying yet he paid 9 million for Rhodes and plays him a mere 4 times out of 8 games. I have read today where he has apologized to the players and wants to come back. The plot thickens folks - more to this than meets the eye - they had one foot in the Premier League then play the two bottom teams and get beat and can't even score.
