Play to his strengths and he will score plenty for them, that means having the quality to drop balls right on his head. Not many players at our level can do that.
yes mate but it doesn't look like they have a player of that calibre to do that. They still have time in this window to find someone with crossing accuracy, yet even more expense for them
If they put enough crosses in he'll get chances. Not all of his goals we're set up by McGeady. He'll not get 30 but 20 is certainly doable.
Whilst i agree with him getting goals he is 5 and 0 so far for them, and long may it continue, as they were ranked as our rivals i got to admit i don't wish them well
Also most teams will look at our match and see that if you stop the crosses he is virtual ineffective, and not the type of player who can make things happen but more of a poacher who is ineffective without support.
I'm not fussed. As long as we win and keep winning. We'll need incommings to do that though. Winchester injury could be nothing or he could be out for a few weeks. That means al already patched up defence will be further cobled together. 3 weeks to sort itout but with Neil targeted in the first half and their goal coming from that side we really need reinforcements asap.
Haha. ‘League One greatest goal machine…’ Except 2 players scored more than his best year in the league last season alone. Ok then.
Must admit I was surprised he was beaten so easily to that ball. Looks like he got completely turned around. To be fair for us he was strong defending corners a lot of the time.
I don't understand it either. He didn't cost us much and he repaid that, plus interest, last Season. IF the salary offered figures qouted on here are accurate, then Wigan offered him over 40% more than we did. We could have at least matched that, but for reasons that most of us would understand, we declined. I can not imagine too many on here would turn down an extra £3K a week if headhunted by another employer. Specialy if it turns out to be the best offer he ever gets in his relatively short career. And very few players feel the same about their employers as the Fans do. Thats not disloyalty, it's just natural. I learned long ago that when they've gone, the're gone. We MOVE ON.
The reaction at the game does make us look bothered that he left mind Having said that, I personally never liked him when he was here. Was happy for him to start last season as we had no one else, but he’s an absolute donkey.
Wasn’t comparing them as players tees and you know that. As does Wayne! Was comparing the number of goals they scored. Wyke was excellent for us last season. Yet nobody is bothered that he’s gone. Any striker who scores 30+ goals has been excellent for their club that season. There can be no arguments about that. but I’m not bothered he’s gone. Nobody is seemingly. Think we have a better “team” without him. Much more mobile front line. Played a better brand of football pre season and on Saturday
So he should’ve had 70? If he was constantly on his heels and got beaten to most, and most of his goals were 1 touch finishes, for your statement to be true. He had to have been on his heels more times than in front of the defender. So basically, he should have outscored all of worry football if he hadn’t been “on his heels” so much?
I think you'll find people will move on when they feel like it. There was a half hearted bit of booing from a minority .... .... not exactly a cauldron of hate
Pleased to hear it. It sounded bad on the Radio early on. And the 'WE MOVE ON' was, modestly' meant in the Royal sense. But you are right in your implication, it should have been, I MOVE ON.
Aye, I'd say the booing directed towards Power and Wyke was largely tongue in cheek, in the same manner that his pre match warm ups were greeted with roars and cheers every time he missed the target. Power was a right workie ticket during the game, but got some good applause at the end (easy to be magnanimous when you've won LOL) I don't think anyone really wishes them ill, just part and parcel of the "love the one you're with" approach to football supporting
He missed a free header from 6 yards out last night. Dead centre of the goal, looped it over the bar.
