According to Sky Sports,we`ve offered £4 million for Charlie Adam. If true I think he would be a decent start to doing something about our poor midfield but would he get a game ? He`s probably far to attack minded for Tony Pulis !

BUT is he any good mate? Can't get into your 1st team and from memory only played well in a handful of games last season? More to the point. How much did Blackpool sell him for, I can't be bothered to check!

Thats excellent news (if true) because as stated in the "Marque signing" thread it was reported that Everton had stole a march on us. I think he would be excellent signing and within our price and wage structure, but would imagin if Everton are interested he would choose them over us.

You are right of course I'm still on a massive downer after last nights performance. He C Adam is BETTER than anything we have currently, which would not be that hard would it. Hope this happens but look what happened to Huddlestone....

Don`t forget ,lads,he played great for Blackpool under Ian Holloway who is an attack minded manager. Maybe I`m being too pessimistic after last night, but does anybody think he would be allowed to attack like he did when playing for Blackpool, with TP in charge?

    Joe,
TP prefers to bypass the midfield if he can. He wouldn't know a ball player from a good idea.

We got him for about £8m last summer. He is quite unanimously disliked at Liverpool, just looks poor compared to some of the other midfielders. Saying that, I think he would be good for you lot, suits your style of play and isn't as bad as a lot of Liverpool fans might make out.

    Jaffa
Thanks for that, top man. <ok>
I thought it was around that mark, might be worth a punt, or a HOOF in Joe's words.

I actually thought it was £6m mate, I'm probably wrong though.

But I agree with Jaffa, will suit you more than us, he looked better when he played alongside Lucas but once Lucas got injured he looked out of place. Will be a decent bit of business for both teams if it happens <ok>

I think he would be a good signing for us, the only problem I can see is the fact of how we play. We completely miss the midfield out with our big hoof tactics. For Charlie Adam to be of any use to us we would need to change how we play. Can anyone see TP changing his ways becasue personally I cant. I hope we get him but he might end up being another Palacious. I just sit here imagining what any other manager would be abe to do with some of the quality players we have now. I honestly think that if we get Charlie Adam we would be a top 10 side comfortably with another manager at the helm. Ive been hoping that we change our style with every player we add in each transfer window but it never happens, and I dont think Charlie Adam will change it either. I really hope we get him though and we can get some good performances out of him and TP can prove me wrong.

Once you accept that he cannot defend AT ALL then you can start appreciating him for the player that he is. He will be a good attacking mid for you as he is a great sprayer of the ball but will inevitably lose possession a lot in the process of spraying some of these 40yd passes (no good for Rodgers who wants more ground balls and possession). He also has quite a good shot on him, although has yet to regain the accuracy he had at Blackpool with both shooting and free kick taking

That shoudn't bother us we never have the ball long enough to lose! he is definetly better than what we've got now.
