Barnsley are a very good side. After that win today at Bournemouth they're in the box seat especially with the fixtures they've got left.

For me there's only one playoff spot left between 4 clubs - and it''s between Reading, Bournemouth, Boro and us.

Still all to play for but it's going to be tough.

Good to see your obsession with the mighty Swans' continues unabated.

There ARE other topics/subjects that you could have a go at. The only problem being ...... <laugh>

I never thought we did; one fantastic run got us away from relegation and on the outskirts of the top 6. It was never realistic we’d keep up that run given the type of football we play.

It was the negativity in our last 2 away games which confirmed my belief. Today was different as we were always going to be out passed and living off scraps - and were to be frank unlucky not to draw as IMO Watford weren’t that great.

I get the despondency after losing a game like that yesterday, but this is not over by a long chalk.

The negativity in our last two away games is a concern as well but that can be rectified in house - it's why MM & TC were employed. Of course it depends on others now, but a couple of decent results for us and bad ones for others can change everything - far too close to call yet.

Prior to those last two "negative" away performances, you've only got to look to the previous half dozen games to show what can happen..........

    Wednesday 24th February
AFC Bournemouth 1 Cardiff City 2

    Saturday 20th February
Cardiff City 4 Preston North End 0

    Tuesday 16th February
Luton Town 0 Cardiff City 2

    Saturday 13th February
Cardiff City 3 Coventry City 1

    Tuesday 9th February
Rotherham United 1 Cardiff City 2

    Saturday 6th February
Bristol City 0 Cardiff City 2

OS you really are an optimist and I applaud it but you must agree our midfield has to be addressed before next season or it will be the same old dross ,and with the crowds back hopefully next season I can see a lot of decent.

Will - midfield at this club hasn't been right since Camarasa's time in the Prem - we are losing games (points) because of it.

It needs a drastic overhaul to bring in quality on the ball rather than just rely on midfield muggers like Ralls and Vaulks.

I am really at a loss to see what Wilson has brought to the party this season such are the poor players around him.

It's always at this stage of the season we look at the fixtures left for the contenders. Fair to say that apart from a complete blow up like Forest did last season, the top 4 are away. I think Barnsley are playing the best "winning" football in the division at the moment and their remaing fixtures look pretty attractive propositions to keep that going.

I think it might have been Hilts that said Reading are the likeliest to be the top 6 fall guys and I agree with him......<laugh>

They have two "winnable" (there's that word again!) games up next that they need to put away, but their April fixture list is a minefield. They're away to both Barnsley and Watford as well as having both us and Swansea at the Madejski - and they've still got to play Norwich away in May - that's some run in..

I think you’ve explained why with your last bit. City just don’t have the players with the necessary ability to get the best out of Wilson.
I just do not get why MM played R&V together again after their last dismal display together. Not having a go at Ralls but we were better when he was injured.
If MM is going to play 3 at the back the team needs a far better midfield 2 than what we had yesterday.

Don't think we're done just yet Nin. <ok>

If we can put away Stoke on Tuesday, can anyone bring themselves to want the Jacks to beat Bournemouth on the the same evening?

I don't have a problem with anyone beating anyone else if it benefits us. No other club is that important to me.

He's reported to be going to Portsmouth to replace Kenny Jackett who's just been sacked.
