No Routledge will go there, he has played in most places. Doesn't matter if it works, people on here are worried about how good Clucas in yet the board and manager are prepared to leave us mega short at the back. Maybe he is planning on playing 3 at the back more and wants more wing backs rather than out and out full backs, which is how I see Kingsley.
I really don't think he's pulling the strings either , also everytime Jenkins lips are moving , it's the Americans who are speaking IMO
Perhaps Clement has no say in the matter as he's not in charge of the purse strings. It looks like a case of one wage earner in and one out.
I am sure we could have made a better choice to leave than Kingsley, it maybe as Taff said Clement doesn't like him and I have heard the same to be fair. It doesn't half leave us light there though. I am sure he was linked to Hull early in the window. http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=forum&forum_id=8&thread_id=25673
Agreed, I like Kingsley as a player. He has a lot to offer and as you say, it leaves us light if Olsson gets injured.
I don't think he's full recovered from the injury last season - no blistering runs and quite pedestrian at times, but possibly playing to orders. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spor...ws/swansea-citys-stephen-kingsley-join-357795 ' The 23-year-old has been identified by the Tigers as their preferred replacement for Andy Robertson at left-back and it is understood Swansea are willing to let the defender join on a permanent basis.' Kingsley going to Hull is predictable, the man wants regular football and has clicked his heels since Taylor got moved on. He's always been a good player but in a limited way IMO. I hope he isn't in addition to £15 million + add ons for Clucas. I can us using Aaron Lewis as cover for Olsson.
Jenkins call the shots for definite. To sell Kingsley is yet another huge mistake. As for clueless as that is what fans will be calling him soon is not worth £5 million and we are paying £15m+ add ons... You could not make it up......Man City wants £13m for a player that has not played for a few seasons Do we have the word MUG on our forehead ? Well the answer to that is YES and everyone knows it....We are forced into these over priced deals now and we will be sorry as they wont make any difference we are still heading in the wrong direction into certain relegation......Should have gone to specsavers or at least learned from the past few seasons that the early bird catches the worm...
Look for a quality defender to come in that can play both RB and LB before the window closes , Clement probably knows who he is already . And , Clement will be playing the majority part in transfers IMO
With Kingsley gone we have no LB cover so if Olssen gets injured we would have to move Naughton, who is also prone to LB and play Rangel, also injury prone and aging at RB. It's like a Brian Rix farce in days of old. People are assuming we're signing Arias but if that goes tits up we're really in the ****e.
Good passer , doesn't seem to get injured , better than a couple tackles and interceptions a game . I'll certainly wait to see what he can do , more importantly , my guess is this is a player Clement wanted and if true , it's all that matters .
Kingsley would not be allowed to go if there wasn't someone set to come in . Even if it's a top of the line RB , like you say Naughton could be cover for both .
I am with you than this, all this he is worth this much and that much and not worth this. Well I would hazard a guess they haven't even seen him pay so I wonder where they get their assessment from. But they are entitled to their opinion, but I think this will turn into a good signing and people will be quickly changing their minds about him.l
In a relegation side......Where is the improvement ? And Paying £15m+ on a hope and a prayer looks like panic buying that wont make any difference to the team that we have already.....We are panicking and its all jenkins fault....
I think the biggest disappointment is that a few seasons ago we were recruiting players that could potentially have taken us to the next level. We were competing with and beating the best and also starting to venture into Europe. But after consistently selling our best players (Ash, Ayew, Siggy, Bony etc), failing to replace them and some crazy managerial appointments, now it seems we are only recruiting players that are going to keep us in this division. It just feels like the life and ambition has been completely sucked out of our club by some very inept board members.
Yes. I see Clement going with Llorente/Bony and Abraham/Ayew up front. So we need an extra striker. Plus I'd love to see two big powerful strikers play together.
