Reports in the press show that Middlesbrough look like they can not afford to keep the following players following their poor performance this year.

Matthew Bates, Justin Hoyte, Tony McMahon, Malaury Martin, Bart Ogbeche, Danny Coyne, Jonathan Franks and Jonathan Grounds are all set to be released...

Would any of them fit in at Leeds?

    &

Will Blackpool, Burnley, Forrest, Cardiff, Birmingham & West Ham all follow suit?

I think Brimingham and West Ham are screwed if they don't get up.

Are West Ham still committed to the Olympic Stadium -- and if so, when would they move in?

Hence why I want to see a Cardiff v Blackpool final, nothing against either of the others but let them suffer financial woe and let them sell off the best players, the weaker they are next season the better for us...

West Ham have no problems. They don't care if they lose money.

Birmingham on the other hand have a few problems.

Every team will have to shed their more expensive players cos of the FFP rules - unless they have ****loadsa money so don't care. There is no relegation from it, just financial penalties, and if you don't care cos you are a billionaire, then it's irrelevant.

But overall, impact will be on players having to be better and get a move to the Prem, or they will have to accept reduced contracts.

Interesting bit is the parachute money. Is that classed as straight income, or is it allocated in the FFP rules against the current players' salaries? ie if they sell a load or get rid of all their high earners, can the relegated teams just employ some more really expensive players because they have a free £14m in their backpockets?

West Ham do have problems, there is no way they have an endless supply of money. They will have to reduce their wage bill to continue playing in the Championship.

Birmingham yet again have failed to file their financial results, they screwed the system last month by getting in 3 or 4 loanees before a transfer ban. They are treading a fine line and if you ask me points deduction at the start of the next season (obviously after failing in the play offs!) would be nice.

Lol, back to the thread, Matthew Bates is out injured with cruciate ligament damage the talk is that his career is over, Justin Hoyte however would be a good signing his contract is up in June.

I do but we all have off days, like our entire back four the entire bloody season !!!, normally a solid defender with a bit of pace.

I agree that Birmingham are doomed if they fail in the Playoff's. Just like Portsmouth did.

Peterboro selling most of their players now, including Boyd. West Ham will be knackered if they don't go up, they have too many players on Prem wages such as Green, Nolan, Cole, Noble etc. There will definitely be a clearout if they fail, simply haven't got the cash. Birmingham will definitely have a firesale if they fail. Simply skint now and they will be the most damaged. Cardiff also screwed if they don't go up, their money has run out. Come on Blackpool!!!!!!
