The game is not over and I hope we put our best 11 out against them next week. If we think we can get away with playing Gibson etc we will be punished. We must approach the game knowing the game can turn in seconds. We should aim to get the 1st goal because if we do that will crush them. It seems unreal we could make the final but it is still a distant reality. We Man Utd can defy all critics and win the CL this season because our spirit and belief and unit is unmatched. I hear a lot of people dong a very reductionist equation People are saying that if we play Barca there is only one winner because they are doing the equation Stronger Man Utd VS Weaker Barca = 2.0 Barca then weaker Man Utd vs Stronger Barca = certain win. Against Real people are saying we will still lose However, football does not work like this and on the night in 2009 our tactics were all wrong. This time we have a great unity in our squad and a much better work ethic with likes of Park and Valencia etc. Also Ferguson will not want to get his tactics wrong again. We are by no means the favorites IF we progress to the final but we do have a chance. It is in our DNA to prove people wrong and going by our history we always or mostly do prove our critics wrong. Writing us off will only feed our manager and trust me you don't want to do that!!!
The games over. Dont worry about it, Schalke are the worst team we have played this season and by some distance. That includes Crawley.
i would expect a team of: VDS rafael-smalling-vidic-evra nani-carrick-scholes-anderson-park berbatov rooney, giggs, hernandez, rio kept for chelsea.could be ill-fated,as berbatov cant play on his own,but try telling SAF that.i get a bad feeling he is weighing up keeping berbatov on the basis of these 1 up front performances, which he never forces upon hernandez.
A lot depends on what happens this weekend. If we beat Arsenal, the game against the chavs becomes a lot less important, particularly if they get embarrassed by Spurs. In that case we may see a stronger side against Schalke - I doubt SAF will take them for granted. Tho' I can't see anything but a Chelsea win this weekend - they know the pressure is on and Spurs have such a decimated squad right now.
thats true.if we beat arsenal we probably will play a strong team to finish off schalke.pointless to speculate what lineups we'll play over the next week considering the numerous possibilites.
Why oh why do Spurs have so many injuries!!! but they can still pull something off against Chelsea but it will be tough
