    It couldn't be could it?

    OK we are 4th, Boro won at home as you'd expect but my hot tips Cardiff lose at home to Posh (probably the biggest championship upset possible due to the fact Cardiff were 1st and Posh 24th) & Millwall beat Leicester 1-0.

    We ARE good enough, if Bruce can inspire the lads PLUS a striker (if only Matty were fit eh?) then it's on.

    FAO Erik - just for you.. we might end up in a relegation scrap and lost every game 3-0 from here on in..

    <ok>

    I think we can do it, theres a lot of intelligence in the team also improvement to come in several areas.We might not even need the new striker/s if Bruce can get der Proschwitzer to fullfill his potential-

    Back home after a few days in cockney land with a few of my Uni mates. Great result today, I still have Cardiff down as favourites to win the league but if we can add a proven striker or 2 in January and we keep on playing like we are then who knows!

    Far too long to go yet- getting way too far a head of yoursleves.

    We said we were in a good place last season after 4 straight wins, but we bollocksed up in March. It could happen again.

    That will depend on January. We can't balls up as dramatically as last year unless we try to go with a paer-thin squad through the busiest month again. I think we'd have to actually lose a few players for it to get as bad as last year.

    We certainly can win it, but I don't think we will. Still think top 2 is a near certainty atm.

    Not quite half way through the season and; Three points off the top, one point off second, four points above the team below us and seven points above seventh - say no more.

    Good summary.

    I'm sure we'd all take 40+ points at the half way stage.

    We're quite a way, performance wise ahead of 'decent' teams in this division. I can't see beyond the top 2, hugely frustrating that we didn't smash Palace at the KC, which we should have. Cardiff still have to come to the KC, it's important we broaden our striker search beyond the North East, if we do, it's on.

    Without wanting to tempt fate, I think we're a better, stronger and more streetwise squad than last season. We've shown so far this season we can overcome bad results and look to have a bit more about us. Obviously a poor run of form and bad luck with injuries could change this, but looking as strong as we are at the moment and with the potential for us to add a couple more players in January we look well set to push for the top 6. We do need to remain cautious and level headed though, complacency could be our biggest foe in a ruthless league and there are plenty of teams who will be pushing to be in the top 6.
