Yep me too and I've earned more than the part time shop assistant down the road but I'll be buggered if I'm taking a pay cut I don't have to. I don't know your job but say your employer comes to you and says you've done nothing wrong however we think we've overpaid you, now move to the company down the road doing the same job but they'll only give you half the amount. You'd leap at it wouldn't you???

He started playing football because he loves the game. I agree I wouldn't want to take a pay cut but I certainly wouldn't waste my talent and career not even making the bench at a Championship club and ultimately losing the chance to play at a World Cup. I'm sorry but some things money can't buy, self respect, pride and ambition are all examples of these...
