Not much happening on here today......

Just to get something going, I think we need a Center back, who would you like to sign and why?

Or does anyone think that we could promote from reserves Ayala, Kelly, Wilson and not buy in this position.

Gary Cahill.Strong, no nonsense and is commanding.Kenny has already had a look at him. Before anyone mentions Shawcross, don't.Baconchops has first refusal on him and at one stage was willing to pay £18 million more for him than he sold him for.He sold him for £2 million and was willing to pay £20 million. It reminds me of the Peter Beardsley story. In 1983 Racist Ron signed Beardo from Vancouver Whitecaps who where then managed by Johnny Giles for £300k and let him go on a free because he thought Norman Offside was a better player.Norman Offside was compared to George Best, the only thing Offside and Best had in common was they were both from Northern Ireland and they were both alcoholics.
In 1987 Baconchops wanted to pay £3 million for him.He joined Kenny Dalglishs Liverpool for £1.9 million.

Cahill fits, the links with players like Mexes don't fit the FSG bill or plan. Sakho from PSG looks commanding and very young, Rolando from Porto has been linked, Naldo at WB ( I believe) was a young up and coming talnet but not sure what has happened recently.

I think it is crazy there are no top top Argentine CB's out there at the moment, Roberto Ayala.....need I say more!

Roberto Ayala was believe it or not was Argentina's answer to Jamie Carragher.
Not the quickest but very good at spotting danger and threw his body in where it hurts. He was part of Rafa Benitez' successful Valencia team of 2001-2004.
He and Pellegrino(again not the quickest) were difficult to play against due to the way they played so far up the pitch.Rafa did that initially with Carra and Sami, neither were beaten through the middle.Ayala and Pellegrino had very little to do as Los Che under Rafa, were the masters at ball retention and they were they best conditioned team in Spain, the longer the season went on,the fitter they got.Credit for that went to Paco Ayesteran. They were fit as ****.

We need someone at least 23 I'd say. Someone who we could chuck straight in there. 22 and 21 is too young unless they've got a good couple of seasons behind them in a decent league (Sakho is probably a decent example). We don't need more to pad out the bench/reserves.

I think the French national team is on the up again, so I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of faces from there in our squad. Maybe Offer N'gog back to PSG in part exchange.

I think you may need to replace Carra as he is obviously going senile.
He wrote some piece in the paper today about how Spurs should start with Crouch because he always did the business against Carvalho for Liverpool.
That would be the same Crouch who has never scored or been on the winning team against Carvalho? I like Carra but you would think he'd get his ghostwriter to check his facts before writing such nonsense.

When he said ''did the business'' he meant,He caused him problems.
Didn't he cause Carvalho loads of problems in the Champions league semi final second leg at Anfield in 2007.?
