I know we, well most of us hate the record, the sun, radio snyde etc. In recent seasons it looks like the naw bags in charge have some inkling of this. We have managed to sign players before "we can look them up on Wikipedia". The Scottish media are almost on radio silence with our transfer targets. So a question. Do you like this.....style? Or do you miss the excitement of reading about a potential star heading our way? Current links to players are made up pish by the way
lets face it the majority of them are ****s and ****ing ****e at their jobs. the sooner the likes of keevins, traynor and jackson are out of a job the better
I like the way Celtic go about their business ... keep it low profile for those we want to bring in a make it high profile to chase off unwanted bids! Lennon (or Celtic) doesn't need them or, I'm guessing with his lack of "paper time", want them!
They're too busy lining up Rangers signings to bother with us. That must be about 20 players the Daily Record has them signed over the past couple of weeks. Whatever happened to the £2.5m rated Spanish striker they were going to sign?
The had had that RB waiting about Glasgow until they could punt folk like Broadfeet before offering him a contract! No wonder he ****ed off!
I am delighted that Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell are doing the business without the meddling newspapers interfering as the role they see for themselves is as informers to let the cash richer English clubs know Celtic are involved and then the Scottish media hope that Celtic are out bid. It doesn't help Celtic fans to know that Celtic wanted to buy a certain player who then decides to sign for the like of Blackburn.
I don't read or listen to them and I certainly wouldn't entertain the notion of talking to them so happy that the club only seem to give them the minimum amount of attention they can get away with.
The recent cutbacks in the print media in Scotland have been a long time in coming. They have largely brought this upon themselves having long since disposed of any vestiges of "real" journalism. The reader saw the "succulent lamb" articles and knew exactly what they were getting. The media became a Rangers party political broadcast for the longest time (that isn't to encourage conspiracy chat, just calling it as it was). You have a compliant media and nobody benefits. Supporters of the monkeys included. They have been conditioned for so long to hearing positive spin that , by and large, they couldn't see the shoe dropping. They couldn't even bring themselves to countenance the possibility that there might even be a shoe to drop. Again, I don't say that because we are smarter than them, that is a given. It didn't and doesn't help us to be so mistrusting of the media. From the days of "Blue" Peter at the BBC and Jock Stein ripping him a new one and maybe even earlier we became increasingly aware of an agenda. The hearse at CP and the "thugs and thieves" episodes left us under no illusions as to how they thought of us, and how they'd lie about us for a story. Of course, fans of other clubs can only see stories about us and the monkeys. Of course, the neglect of them becomes another side issue in the sham. Moving on to the quality of the output. In short, it is pathetic. Darrell King tripped over himself the other night proclaiming that the monkey Hun bastard **** players had 2 contracts. Is he too stupid to understand what this means or doesn't he think it is relevant? Other journos suddenly and startlingly waking up to the fact that the Huns are ****ed. An online blogger has been putting them to shame by concisely and accurately detailing the Hun plight. Yet Mark Guidi only last week proclaimed to have never even heard of the RTC blog. An amateur kicking his arse at his own job and he doesn't know about it.....aye right One particularly belligerent Hun **** proclaimed on this very forum that he didn't read the RTC blog. Fair enough. why should he? He had his softballing mainstream media to comfort him. The fact that they were inaccurate wastrels (and his willingness to accept that) is something I have already addressed. Quite why he would then fail to acknowledge the value and accuracy of RTC is perhaps a direct result of his faith in the "mainstream" media. Moving on to the unemployed journalist in Donegal (he is in Mayo actually, but who gives a ****). I have been pretty clear on my feelings about him, but did he ever miss? Did he ****. He released stories that damaged the SFA and damaged the monkeys. every single sports journalist had the means and opportunity to write and print the stories PhilMac Giolla Bháin did. The thing that stopped them was their seat at the poor journo's dinner table in Monaco and beyond. Those same dicks are now awake to the impending doom round Govan way and are not a kick in the arse off proclaiming them a basket case. They are exonerating themselves from all blame in this. This is all the fault of RRRRRRRRainjurs and RRRRRRainjurs only. Yes, to an extent, but if they had been doing their jobs as journalists and not been dining buddies with those whom they should have been examining, then things would never has got as bad as they are for the Huns. In 1994 we knew eeeeeeeeeeeeverything about the state of our club. The press delighted in in. They brought us the news.....we wanted it. The Huns?.......They don't want to hear it. The "Thugs and Thieves" thing was the most prominent backlash I can recall from us (the Celtic support). It was vindication for the existing anti-media brigade. It came at a time when the "new media" was really coming to prominence. Getting circular e-mails containing nothing but Celtic content was great, that spread to forums, then blogs and social networking sites. The Celtic support had control over our own output. The club has been a lot slower in reacting, but to their credit, they have. Anyone on twitter who does not follow Anthony Hamilton most certainly should. I don't know if he is driving that medium forward himself, but he is doing a great job. To sum it up I am delighted that we have control. I am delighted that we do it better than the supposed professionals but there is going to come a time where that balance tilts too far. There needs to be a free, independent and impartial media in Scotland to do the job properly. Read some of Graham Hunters stuff on Spanish fitba and you'll see that **** journalism isn't a Scottish disease, rather a Scottish condition. Oh.... and up the RA
The club are only doing the bare minimum coz the journos ****ed themselves and wrote themselves into oblivion by writing **** that we couldn't believe (All football supporters). They lied about us and didn't do their jobs properly for the Huns.
