This figure was quoted by your new owner recently. Do you know if that is your transfer kitty, or does it include wages? Not sure if this has been mentioned, but will make a very big difference on the season ahead? Anyone know?
I reckon it'd include the wages. A bigger figure sells it better to fans so I think he would always use that figure
If we were starting with £15 million Today, we could get a classy CB, a pacey winger and a proven Championship goalscorer. Considering we have trimmed the wages and flushed the goldfish down the toilet, I await further developments.
yea but you know what owners are like (and particularly Cellino). They always want to make it sound better to the fans, by including the wages in it they aren't lying technically. Hell, it probably even includes agent's fees and other stuff.
It's an extra 15 million, other wise our budget would be -5 million.Players have and are being bought which wouldn't be the case if it was -5 million.
Either way, it's some change from previous summers. Long time since we've started a season with a better team than the one that finished previous one
Think we have though. Put it this way, we could not be worse than last season. A clueless manager, unfit disinterested players. At least it appears Cellino will not tolerate lack of effort or fitness from the players. That in itself Ristac will be a major step forward. Whether the players have more quality remains to be seen but they won't have less
I agree, Eire. If you look at the deadwood we've cut away, who featured regularly in the team last year, or would have made it in this year? McContract & Brown on a part time basis. End of. We're certainly better poised at this stage than we've been for years.
Which positions do you think you have improved on? Manager? Keepers? Defence? Midfield? Forwards? All of the above? None of the above?
Keeper - No change, maybe slightly better as our new keeper is younger and Kenny did go down hill a bit Defence - Better, same players as last year with the addition of a useful looking RB and Charlie Taylor hopefully breaking through Midfield - Same as last year, lost a lot of deadwood I agree and we have brought in Bianchi who is unknown and lost Brown who many rated. Attack - Weaker the new guy is no way a replacement for Ross Still a way to go so fingers crossed this will change somewhat
