If we manage to pull this off and city win the league, the etihad will be the scene of the greatest joy ever witnessed in a footballing arena. 2 teams celebrating for 2 very different reasons. Could be spectacular.
After the Chelsea performance I am a) amazed at your optimism and b) surprised you think we would get anything from that game! In the words of Kevin Keegan though... "I will love it if we beat them! Love it!"
Ideal scenario is if a draw suits both of us on the last day. So if spuds beat Bolton, we beat stoke, swans beat or draw man utd, city beat the toon, wba draw bolton....what are the odds?
Guaranted that City will be celebrating because its end of season tradition for us to watc title being celebrated. Last year us, year before Newcastle, and year before West Brom.
The worst scenario is a Bolton run of victories that would see us down. Otherwise, there will be something for both us and City to play for at the Etihad. 12th man has it right - our best bet would be a draw needed by both - the Italians love that cautious play out the draw with both teams never crossing the half way line (while both sets of fans start raptuous partying).
QPR getting 3 points Bolton getting 0-1 points Man utd getting 0-1 points Man city getting 3 points Tottenham win vs Bolton QPR win vs Stoke WBA win/draw vs Bolton Man city win vs Newcastle Swansea win/draw vs Man utd It would leave both us and City needing a point to achieve our goals. All this is achieveable, its just relying on a managerless WBA and Swansea to avoid an away defeat is what I'm worried about.
Whatever happens we should celebrate, have a fun day out, relegation or not, i don't want any tears being shed like those mopes you see on motd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0zP5ertYtA all together now, OH CAPTAIN JACK
Sorry to spoil the fun here guys but most people think we will beat stoke i think its going to be a lot harder than people think, this is our last home game the players will be feeling the tension, because this is a must win game and stoke have nothing to play for they are safe.
It's not taraabts, it's mine. I'm just saying it is possible and am putting the thought out there for you all to imagine. If this dream comes true, someone bump this to the top, make it sticky and give me cernys cape and pants.
Also Preston celebrated a Play-Off qualification by beating us (although obviously that wasn't a Championship or a Promotion).
Did my post last night on City teach you nothing? Bollocks to them. We'll stuff them 4-0 and they'll be waiting outside the away end to congratulate us on our unlikely win and we'll shake their hands and bid them good luck in next season's title challenge.
