I'd be annoyed if I thought he didn't have a relegation related pay cut (the way it was said a few weeks back, I think only Green and Hoilett will be without reductions). Young enough that there's a chance he'll be coached up to a better level (and better character than some we're being linked with).
To be fair, he sounds very positive and, dare I say it, quite committed. I thought that he was a very good prospect when we signed him and I was pleased when we did so. Surely, we can't have ruined him in such a short space of time? Over to you, Mr Ramsey, to work your coaching magic.
Thats just it. His life programming or attitude as I have read about is not so good but skills, yes he has it so I'm lead to believe so who knows is the feeling I'm getting. Sorry, It's so hard for me to join in these threads as I'm such an indecisive yes man... Well at least I'm honest about my condition!
I'd love him to be the player people seem to think he can be. I dare say if he'd been in Barnet's academy rather than Spurs' he'd never have got anywhere close to the Premier League. I don't think I've ever seen such a thick footballer, in a football sense, and to be such at centre-half after so many years of expert coaching is quite amazing.
Sorry, l don't ....... I think he's damaged goods but I can only hope someone corrects me at a later date. He caught the Rio disease and only turns up once in a blue moon. Then Harry said he's a top top player so that means he's crap. Nope, he's done for........ next!
Two successive relegations tell you all you need to know, he doesn't even score anymore which was one redeeming feature, would take £2 million for him as he's a liability...
Fact remains that you'd get nothing better for your £2 million. I think he'll come good in the Championship.
I don't think that's a fact at all. Would love to know what wage he's stolen for his year of ****-ups and off-field trouble.
So who would you buy with the £2 mil then Watford? I Caulker strikes me as a confidence player, and not playing against Rooney, Aguero, Costa etc each week will help his game progress. He's still young and still learning. I think that having a central pairing of Onouha and Caulker (on paper at least) looks like the best CB pairing in the division. RB is still an issue that I hope gets address because it'd be a shame to have to put the Chief out there.
For £2m and his wage, which I'm estimating fairly conservatively at £2m per year you're looking at £8m over three years in total were he to be offloaded for £2m. Someone would probably take him for a little more but anyway... I'd love Flint at Bristol City- probably a higher fee but far lower wages. Lewis Dunk- similar situation to Flint. Either of Brentford's centre-halves. As I've said before, I'd love Caulker to turn it around but I think he lacks the brains (on and off field) and character to be anything but a dud. If I was the 6'7" striker Charlton have just got I'd be licking my lips.
Very relevant, the comments were about whether Caulker would come good in the Championship. My point was that even though SWP, like Caulker, were supposed to be PL quality, SWP proved that a drop to a lower league did squat for him. He was just as bad.
